[Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds / PUBG] Battlegrounds needs laser guns, and other mod ideas

This is a Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds article on mod ideas for the future release of the game, specifically laser guns.

Laser Guns and Other Mod Ideas

Steam’s early access and most of the world has been good to Brendan “Playerunknown” Greene and his dev company, Bluehole due to their success with the battle royal-style game, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds. Set to be released in Q4 2017, the video game has been a popular competitive medium for players all over the world due to it’s amazingly versatile gameplay. Graphic bugs and optimization issues have not turned off a massive majority of players.

I personally have started to overcome my fear of Battlegrounds. This coincided with the recent news about the desert map, which, to me, reminded me of my video game home, Fallout: New Vegas. A silly thought came to my head: laser guns.

In an interview with Cnet, Brendan Greene said that there would be mod support in the future, so there’s hope that I would scratch my sci-fi themed Battlegrounds itch eventually, down the line.

Mod Ideas (or suggesting weapon and thematic mods to satisfy my Fallout itch)

Just to throw it out there to modders reading, Laser guns (or any sci-fi weapon at all) could be of varying qualities and damage. Some guns might take ten shots to kill you while others might melt you in one shot if they manage to get specific attachments. Of course, lasers would probably break the balance of the game due to a lack of bullet drop whatsoever–lasers would have the fastest travel distance for their “projectile,” and it would be imperative for a character to find a laser gun if they’d want some modded chicken dinner. A character pointing at another enemy from afar will be able to single-handedly melt his foe just by lining his crosshairs up.

Why not stop there? Let’s have power armor (possibly air-dropped by a vertibird), aesthetically allow people to become ghouls due to radiation, etc? What about a survival mode where people have to scrounge houses for food and water to make sure their bodies aren’t thirsty?

Please make it so, modders.

I’m gushing and jesting at the same time, but these are genuine suggestions at game mods for PUBG. If you have any more suggestions, comment them below so we can have some fun bouncing ideas off each other.
