Overdrive Effects

SaGa: Emerald Beyond (SaGa: EB) - Overdrive 2

Upon activating Overdrive, party members who take part in the attack will be able to attack again. The Tech selected during Overdrive will automatically be used if the BP cost is less than the amount consumed in the coordinated attack.

Be warned that characters cannot guard while in Overdrive.

The more powerful Techs you link up, the more rewarding Overdrive becomes.

SaGa: Emerald Beyond (SaGa: EB) - Overdrive 3

The stronger the Techs you string together, the more powerful Overdrive will be.

If you can coordinate with as many allies as you can who will each use high-BP attacks, you can efficiently deal massive damage to the enemy.

Techs that consume BP in the previous turn, in particular, are well-suited for chaining via Overdrive as they are easy to link with other powerful attacks which can lead to great results.

Techs that Cannot be Linked via Overdrive

Reserve Techs, unlinkable Techs, and Blood Techs cannot be used in Overdrive.

How to Activate Showstopper

No allies before and after within two squares of a character on the timeline.

SaGa: Emerald Beyond (SaGa: EB) - Showstopper 1

You can activate Showstopper if a character does not have any allies within 2 squares before and after them on the timeline (shown at the bottom of the battle screen).

Showstopper will not activate if you are too close to the edge and the distance to the edge is only 1 square or if other allies are within 2 squares.

Because of this, plan each party member’s actions carefully if you want to use Showstopper.

Showstopper Effects

The BP that can be used during Showstopper is your current BP + 1 and will last until all of the character’s BP are used up.

Note that Techs and skills that is used at the end of Showstopper will activate regardless of BP.

Techs that Cannot be Used in Showstopper

Tips on Using Showstopper

SaGa: Emerald Beyond (SaGa: EB) - Showstopper 3

While in the Showstopper state, a character’s BP  (remaining BP +1)  is consumed to perform continuous attacks.

Therefore, it does not make much sense if you do not have any BP left in the first place.

If you want to make the most of out of Showstopper, keep your actions to a minimum and have your party members just defend in battle.
