SS Tier Resonator Characters (Strongest Resonators in the Game)

Jiyan (Aero)	Main DPS	Excellent all-purpose main DPS character with no complex gimmicks or quirks to master for maximizing damage output. Very high attack speed gives him time to dodge enemy attacks more easily. Exceptional damage using consecutive basic attacks when in Qingloong Mode upon activating his Resonance Liberation “Emerald Storm: Prelude”.
Yinlin (Electro)	Main DPS/Sub DPS	Incredible off-field value while having strong options on-field as a mid-range DPS. Her ability to fight from a distance affords her the relative safety enjoyed by pistol and rectifier characters. Currently unreleased in the game (scheduled for release on June 6th, 2024)
Encore (Fusion)	Main DPS	High damage sub DPS character with very good passive damage off-field. Very high damage potential with enhanced heavy attack after activating Resonance Liberation Skill “Cosmos Rave”. Controlling her takes some getting used to due to her poor mobility and dodge window between attack strings.
Verina (Spectro)	Support	Best support character with access to the best recovery and buff skills in the game. Grants two types of buffs to allies in addition to healing HP actively and passively. Optimal for end-game content such as high-level Tactical Hologram challenges.

Jianxin (Aero)	Support	High-utility support character. Extremely useful all-in-one temporary buff that grants both a shield and passive HP recovery via her special Forte Skill “Primordial Chi Spiral” (heavy attack). Can contribute as sub DPS to deal AoE damage via her Resonance Liberation skill “Purication Force Field” and while casting her buff.
Lingyang (Glacio)	Main DPS	High-damage main DPS character. Incredible combo damage output after activating Striding Lion state. Needs to accumulate Lion’s Spirit gauge to begin outputting large damage numbers.

Best Main DPS Characters

Jiyan (Aero)

Jiyan is currently the best main DPS character in terms of combo damage, attack speed, and range (melee). He boasts naturally high Aero damage which is further buffed after he activates his Resonance Liberation skill “Emerald Storm: Prelude”. Doing so grants his basic attacks a wide AoE and unmatched DPS when doing combos.

The lack of any intricate mechanics to learn when using Jiyan all the more makes him one of the top attackers in the game as you can easily wail on enemies to accumulate massive damage numbers quickly. All in all, Jiyan offers the best offensive value for almost all types of content from early- to end-game.

Encore (Fusion)

Encore outputs high AoE damage mainly through her enhanced heavy attack at the end of  her Resonance Liberation skill “Cosmos Rave”. This allows Encore to dish out arguably the strongest single-hit AoE attack in the game.

Despite her formidable offense, Encore suffers from poor movement speed and having to get used to her attack strings to be able to dodge when you need to. Furthermore, Encore’s attack range outside of her enhanced heavy attack when in Cosmos Rave is reduced, rendering her into a melee attacker while in the state.

Calcharo (Electro)

Calcharo is somewhat similar to Jiyan in that both characters focus on stacking high damage through the improved DPS they gain after activating their Resonance Liberation skills. In Calcharo’s case, he can enter the empowered “Deathblade Gear” state through his Resonance Liberation “Phantom Etching”.

When not in Deathblade Gear mode, Calcharo can somewhat compete with Jiyan’s naturally high DPS, though not as easily as the latter. By accumulating “Cruelty” stacks and unleashing his enhanced heavy attack “Mercy”. To do this, Calcharo must land his Resonance Skill “Extermination Order” three times to fill the Cruelty gauge. Once the gauge is full, Calcharo’s heavy attack gains a powerful follow-up that deals high damage in a wide frontal range.

Best Sub DPS Characters

Yinlin (Electro)

While not yet released in the game, previews of Yinlin’s abilities as a sub DPS character suggest that she will dominate the category. While a force to be reckoned with on-field as a mid-range attacker with strong AoE damage, Yinlin’s true value to the team is her off-field damage output and buffs bestowed on characters of the Electro Attribute. By applying Punishment Marks on targets, Yinlin (off-field) will deal Electro damage whenever the active character hits the marked foe. This alone sets up the potential for being able to stack massive Electro damage numbers in a short amount of time.

Finally, Yinlin’s Outro Skill “Strategist” is among the best attribute-specific buffs for pairing with a main DPS Electro character like Calcharo. Upon exiting the field, Yinlin will grant the entering ally increased Electro damage as well as significantly boost their Resonance Liberation skill damage.

Mortefi (Fusion)

Mortefi is another high-value sub DPS with a similar function to Yinlin. First, his Outro Skill “Rage Transposition” grants the ally who enters the battle a large buff to heavy attacks for a short duration or until they exit the field. Second, Mortefi’s Resonance Liberation skill “Violent Finale” deals good Fusion damage while bestowing the “Burning Rhapsody” state to all allies. When a character is in this state, Mortefi will attack off-field when the active character performs basic and heavy attacks.

A simple but reliable rotation for using Mortefi is to accumulate Resonance energy until you are able to activate Violent Finale to apply the Burning Rhapsody state to all allies. Then, trigger his Outro Skill once you accumulate Concerto Energy to jump between your two allies’ Intro Skills.

Best Support Characters

Verina (Spectro)

The best pure support character in the game is Verina because of her access to strong healing and attack buff skills. Triggering her Resonance Liberation skill “Arboreal Flourish” is the best healing skill in the game as it restores a large amount of HP to all allies while applying a unique “Photosynthesis Mark” on the enemy. Whenever another character attacks the foe with the mark, Verina will summon roots to deal damage off-field that also continues to heal the active character.

Verina is also able to grant allies increased attack power using her Outro Skill that lasts for a good duration. This ability, alongside her incredible performance as a healer, allows Verina to fill the sub DPS role quite effectively as well. She is especially favored in high-difficulty content during the endgame, especially Tactical Hologram challenges.

Jianxin (Aero)

Jianxin is another impressive support character who can bestow an all-in-one shield + HP regen buff on allies. By accumulating her Chi gauge via dodging, parrying, and using her Resonance Skill “Calming Air”, Jianxin can start charging “Primordial Key Spiral” by holding the heavy attack button. In this charging state, Jianxin is immune to most attacks and will damage nearby enemies that are near her as she gathers Chi.

In addition to Primordial Key Spiral, Jianxin has another way to deal AoE damage in the form of her Resonance Liberation skill “Purification Force Field”. This move generates a wide AoE that pulls targets while dealing Aero damage. These tools allow Jianxin to switch between a purely support character to one that is able to handle sub DPS duties when needed such as timed challenges.

Baizhi (Glacio)

Rounding the list of best support characters is Baizhi who offers incredible value to the team as a healer and buffer despite being a 4-star character. It may be easy to brush off Baizhi as simply an alternative for players who do not have Verina (owing to some of their similarities), though the former can still get you through the main story and even difficult content fairly well. And unlike Verina, Baizhi is automatically obtained for free during the early stages of the main story.

Like Verina, Baizhi’s Resonance Liberation skill “Momentary Union” is the best healing ability available to her. In addition to actively healing allies, using this skill generates 4 unique stacks of “Remnant Entities”. These entities will follow and assist an ally by dealing occasionally dealing Glacio damage while passively healing their HP.
