Arena of Valor Valiant Online Community Tournament - Day 16 Round-Up

In our Day 16 Round-Up, we take a look at final games of the Lower Bracket. The competitors showcased different playstyles and team compositions that made the day more exciting in Kaisaya's Arena of Valor Online Community Tournament.

Greetings and welcome to Samurai Gamers’ Day 16 Round-Up of Kaisaya’s Arena of Valor Valiant Online Community Tournament. We are down to the last few matches of Round 4 in the lower bracket, and the action is still ever as competitive and red hot as before. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights!

Day 16 Round-Up

Match 1: Static Gamers vs Nova S

The first game of the tournament was between Static Gamers and Nova S. Static Gamers opted for an assassin-heavy composition while Nova S went with a semi-tanky lineup. With their lineups checked, both teams are looking to prolong the game since their lineup scales better in the late game.

The early game was slow, but Static Gamers managed to get the first blood in the 2nd minute mark. This was the only time Static Gamers got a kill lead as Nova S quickly answered back with multiple kills of their own. With each kill that Static Gamers get, Nova S quickly answered back.

Static Gamers tried to turn the game around in their favor and successfully got the Dark Slayer in the 10th minute mark. Despite the advantage, Static Gamers still couldn’t capitalize and had a hard time pushing the towers of Nova S. Nova S still had the momentum and they managed to destroy two high ground towers.

In the 19th minute mark, Nova S sealed the deal after a successful team fight. Nova S then immediately shoved towards Static Gamers’ base to finish the match in a convincing fashion, 27-14.

Match 2: SteelWolves.Dire vs. PowerRangers

One of the best games so far in the tournament was this one, as both were equally matched and it was a close call in the dying minutes of the game. In the end, PowerRangers managed to win this one in thrilling fashion, 25-18.

Both teams have a strategy in mind in the drafting phase. PowerRangers team composition were very aggressive, and they also sneaked in the newly-released hero Lilliana in the mix. On the other hand, SteelWolves.Dire went with a safe pick who has a lot of engage and disengage.

PowerRangers had the upper hand in the early game as they capture a 3-0 lead in the first four minutes of the match. SteelWolves.Dire tried to answer, but PowerRangers was still racking up kills to maintain their lead. In the 14th minute mark, SteelWolves was able to win a team fight, 5-2, to give them the opportunity to push the mid high ground towers.

With the momentum in their favor, they managed to once again win a team fight. SteelWolves aggressively pushed in the mid lane to try and end the game with two members of PowerRangers dead. Unfortunately, they miscalculated their strength and four members of SteelWolves died perished against three members of PowerRangers.

PowerRangers retaliated by pushing pushing the AD towers. They miraculously  won a team fight in the mid lane, sweeping SteelWolves.Dire in a dominating fashion. With all of the members of SteelWolves dead, PowerRangers completed their comeback to advance to the next round and eliminate SteelWolves.Dire.

Match 3: Kimochiii Dieux vs PowerPuffBoys – Nova PH

This match was full of tower dives and ganks from both teams, but PowerPuffBoys emerged victorious against Kimochiii Dieux in this third game of Day 16.

Xeniel was the X-factor for PowerPuffBoys as he was able to get 8 kills and 8 assists along with an outstanding 0 deaths. Xeniel was also able to complete the items in his build, making him very durable against The Joker who is considered a deadly hero in late-game situations.

In order for Kimochiii Dieux to win the match, they needed The Joker to have a complete item build to take down Xeniel and Maloch, but PowerPuffBoys already thought ahead of Kimochiii Dieux by clearing or defeating all the jungle monsters in the last minutes of the game. With The Joker unable to farm for gold, PowerPuffBoys went ahead and dived into the core, winning the match with an impressive 23-11 final score.

Match 4: Enemy E-Sports Electric vs Kimochiii

The last match for Round 4 of the lower bracket was between Enemy E-Sports Electric and Kimochiii. Enemy E-Sports opted to go for a sustained damage and engage composition in Maloch, Chaugnar, The Joker, Zanis, and Mganga. Kimochiii, on the other hand, went for a mobile and single-damage intensive team with Xeniel, Zephys, Alice, Airi, and Liliana.

Both teams started to invade each others’ Might Golem; utilizing a 4-man engage in order to secure the buffs. Roaming was the name of the early game, as both teams looked for possible ganks.

Kimochiii managed to get the first Abyssal Dragon of the game at 2:09, at the behest of Enemy E-Sports. Cyriux got First Blood by sniping Titanium. However, Enemy E-Sports was quick to punish Cyriux and evened the score, 1-1.

At 5:25, just as Kimochiii secured their second Abyssal Dragon, Enemy E-Sports initiated a team fight. This resulted in two deaths for both teams, but Enemy E-Sports took the team score, 6-5. That said, Kimochiii still had the slight gold advantage leading into the middle part of the match.

As the match progressed, Kimochiii started to pressure the lanes. This led to them destroying Enemy E-Sports’ Dark Slayer and Abyssal Dragon lanes. Enemy E-Sports tried to defend, but Kimochiii got some stops and took the team kill score lead 10-7.

Kimochiii turned the tables on Enemy E-Sports after a botched engage, with Cyriux getting a double kill. This proved to be the deathknell for Enemy E-Sports, as Kimochiii secured Dark Slayer and ran through the top lane, and ending the match, 16-7.

Hosted by Kaisaya, a well known Philippine shoutcaster, the AOV Valiant Online Community Tournament is a community-based online event which provides a platform for professional and amateur teams to showcase their skills and experience an official-esque environment.
