Samurai Gamers' Weekly Takeaways from Kaisaya's AOV Valiant Online Community Tournament highlights the ongoing narratives going into this weeks Finals bout between BrenEsports and EurasiaSuperfly!

Welcome to Week 6 of Samurai Gamers’ Weekly Takeaways from Kaisaya’s AOV Valiant Online Tournament. It has been a wild ride for all the teams who have participated – some teams surprised, others maintained dominance. Let’s take a look at what some tidbits during last week’s matches:

The Undefeated vs. The Underdogs

Two teams will battle in a Best of 7 series this Wednesday at Kaisaya’s AOV Valiant Online Tournament. It is a tale between EurasiaSuperfly, a team who has something to prove, going up against BrenEsports, a team who has yet to face a loss in the tournament.

For BrenEsports (11-0), Kaisaya’s Tournament has been a showcase of their mettle as one of the best AOV Esports teams in the Valiant Server. Their spotless record is indicative of their experience playing against teams from the other MSP servers and other regions, and being able to dictate the pace of the match.

Meanwhile, EurasiaSuperfly (11-2) is one of the teams in the tournament who has shown some clutch moments and has scrapped tooth and nail to get to the finals. Having lost to Nova PH Ravenous in Round 4 of the Upper Bracket, EurasiaSuperfly got their groove back by sweeping Nova PH Ravenous in Round 10 of the Losers Bracket. Now, they have the opportunity of dethroning BrenEsports in the finals.

Rest assured, this match up is a must-watch affair, as we will witness top-level AOV action from both teams this Wednesday.

The Picked and the Banned (Week 6)

We had 15 games of AOV action last week, but did the picks and bans trend continue for Week 6? Let’s find out!

HERO PICK % (15 Games) WIN % (15 Games) NOTES

Liliana
Max
66.67% (Liliana)

66.67% (Max)

70.00% (Liliana)

50.00% (Max)

There were two heroes who tied for the most picked during Week 6 at 10 a piece. These are Liliana and Max.

Liliana gets top honors in terms of win percentage, as she won 70% of the matches she was chosen. As the newest hero on the block, her mobile yet high-damage kit might prove to be troublesome for those who are not yet familiar with her during the laning phase.

Another relatively new hero, Max has shown some regular action, especially this past week. His global pressure once at Level 4 can be a nuisance and a threat if left unchecked, but his win rate is a toss up at 50/50.

Airi

Tulen
60.00% (Airi)

60.00% (Alice)

60.00% (Tulen)

44.44% (Airi)

66.67% (Alice)

33.33% (Tulen)

Three heroes share the second-most picks during Week 6 – Airi, Alice, and Tulen. Each brings a different dynamic to a team composition.

Airi is often picked as the substitute burst assassin whenever Zephys is banned in the tournament. That said, her win rate is somewhat serviceable, but this is just indicative of how Valiant Server players has got this hero’s tendencies down pat.

Alice still gets a good amount of games thanks in large part to her impact in all stages of the game – from ganks in the early stages to her ultimate and supportive abilities in the mid and late game, she is a great pick for teams.

Tulen has seen a slide in his winning ways this past week. One reason could be that, similar to Airi, teams have been becoming more accustomed to his play style that they have been finding ways to mitigate is gravitas during matches. This hasn’t stopped teams from picking him, however, since his damage output is still one of the strongest in the current meta.

Violet
53.33% 37.50% One of the more surprising picks for this week was Violet.

Still considered to be one of the better Marksmen available, the current meta still hasn’t been too kind to her. Nevertheless, some teams still has her on their plays, as her snowballing tendencies will let her carry her team to victory or defeat.

Here are the bans for week 6:

HERO WIN% WHEN PICKED # OF TIMES BANNED (15 Games) NOTES
Arena of Valor TeeMeeTeeMee 50.00% 10 Teemee gets the most bans in Week 6 with 10. The duo has been a divisive hero for the better part of the tournament – Teemee’s debut saw him win every game he has won, but has since fallen back to normal in the following weeks.

Nevertheless, his abilities are nothing to scoff at – having the ability to revive a dead teammate is something most teams do not want to contend with, so into the bench he goes.

Arena of ValorSuperman

Lindis

Maloch

50.00% (Superman)

71.43% (Lindis)

85.71% (Maloch)

8 (all three heroes) Three heroes are tied in the second place for Week 6 – Superman, Lindis, Maloch.

Superman is a no-brainer: he has been banned for most of the tournament, thanks to his top-tier initiate and damaging kit. That said, he has seen a handful of games in the past week, and was successful in half of his matches.

Second is Lindis. The past few weeks has seen teams utilize her traps to provide early game locators on enemies which in turn helps them set up ambushes. As with most Marksmen, good players maximize her damage by placing her in the right position during clashes.

Lastly, Maloch is another staple tank most teams are on the lookout for. His engage and crowd control is a real pain to deal with, which is why he has seen the bench more often than not last week.

Alice
Xeniel
66.67% (Alice)

66.67% (Xeniel)

6 (both heroes) Alice and Xeniel are tied with 6 bans a piece for Week 6. Both heroes provide support for their team, as well as some additional pressure to sway the fight to their favor.

Alice is a good roamer who can get her laners rolling, provided her stuns and slows hit the right targets. During team fights, Hissy Fit can dampen her opponents’ strategy.

Xeniel, on the other hand, is still a threat when it comes to split pushing and team fights. When he gets to Level 4, Angelic Splendor often helps his allies rally from a losing team fight.
