Arena of Valor Valiant Online Community Tournament - Day 8 Round-Up

Day 8 Round-up highlights the second round of the Lower Bracket in Kaisaya's AOV Valiant Online Community Tournament. From one-sided games, to highly competitive and hard fought battles, Round 2's participants put on quite a show!

The Day 8 Round-up saw Round 2 of the Lower Bracket. Teams who are still clinging to the hopes of bouncing back from their losses in the previous weeks waged in fierce competition against one another. Here are some of the highlights:

J3X LUCIS opted to go for a clash-intensive lineup with Lauriel, Maloch and Teemee. Xeniel and Zill completes their lineup, with Xeniel providing lane and global pressure, while Zill gives further burst Magic Damage. Conversely, OPPAI GAMING intended to build a team composed of harassers and skirmishers – Lu Bu, Kil’Groth and Ormarr provide a damage-heavy front line, while Tulen and Lindis provide a mix of Magic and Physical Damage from long distance.

OPPAI GAMING got First Blood honors at 1:32 by picking off an out-of-position Teemee. J3X LUCIS was quick to retaliate, but OPPAI GAMING turned their rally for a 3-1 lead just before the 2-minute mark. OPPAI GAMING took full advantage of J3X LUCIS’ misplays like a mistimed engage at the middle lane at 9:58. This resulted to two more kills in favor of OPPAI GAMING.

Things slowly began to unravel for J3X LUCIS, as they were not able to initiate a team fight effectively, while OPPAI GAMING continued to pressure the lanes as well as jungle control. The final clash saw OPPAI GAMING rout J3X LUCIS at the Abyssal Dragon Lane after securing Dark Slayer. Ultimately, OPPAI GAMING got the victory, 15-3, in under 9 minutes of action.

ZodiaC’s team consisted of Xeniel, Lauriel, Airi, Zephys and Maloch. This lineup is a mixed bag of lane pressure, good initiates, as well as mobility. Meanwhile, Infinity League Legacy opted to run a team that has Preyta, Murad, Thane, Teemee and The Joker. They plan to have Teemee and Thane engage the opponents and keep them at bay while Murad does his insane AOE damage in tandem with Preyta and The Joker’s burst.

ZodiaC employed an early jungle invade to begin the match, managing to get the Might Golem off of Infinity at the expense of a 1-1 team kill score. Another clash happened near Abyssal Dragon at 4:00, which led to ZodiaC securing Abysal Dragon and a 4-3 ZodiaC lead.

Infinity tried to rally and bring the fight to ZodiaC, but clever positioning and timing from ZodiaC proved to be an excellent foil to Infinity’s strategy – Zephys managed to catch Murad in the middle brush near Abyssal Dragon, and ZodiaC responded and handily won a middle lane clash at 6:11 which also resulted in another Abyssal Dragon.

At the end of the day, ZodiaC proved to be the better team, besting Infinity League Legacy, 19-13, thanks to good assessment when to engage and win team fights, as well as secure crucial objectives.

Day 8 Round-up’s final match saw Enemy E-Sports Electric battle ScareBears.

Enemy E-Sports Electric went with a dual-Marksmen lineup consisting of Lindis and The Joker. They were complemented with Maloch, Jinnar and Thane. On the side of ScareBears, their team consisted of Zephys, Skud, Airi, Lauriel and Mina.

Both teams went out guns-a-blazing, meeting near the Sage Golem brush at ScareBears’ jungle at 0:30. Enemy E-Sports got first blood, with Joker sniping down Zephys during the clash, and following up with a Triple Kill by subsequently eliminating Lauriel and Mina.

After securing Abyssal Dragon at 2:10, Enemy E-Sports pinned down ScareBears’ Lauriel for another kill for their team, a 4-0 team kill and gold lead. However, ScareBears managed to cut the deficit, winning a clash near their Might Golem at 3:44.

But Enemy E-Sports have other plans. After picking off Thane and Lauriel again at  5:00, they proceeded to take down the second tower of the middle lane. ScareBears managed to quell the siege, and were also able to shut down Lindis at 7:58.

Enemy E-Sports rallied, however, taking down both the middle and bottom towers and seemingly poised to win the match. A tenacious ScareBears team again managed to defend their base, shutting down Lindis yet again. Afterwards, ScareBears secured Dark Slayer, increasing their chances to even the score.

Another clash at 11:28 saw Enemy E-Sports take down the final tower at the top lane and killing Mina in the process. With their backs against the wall, ScareBears held Enemy E-Sports back and succeeded in defending their base yet again.

Undeterred, Enemy E-Sports mustered up their forces, waited for their super creeps and eventually eek out a hard-fought 31-20 victory .
