Root-Stalker Mini Boss Strategy

Main Strategy

Hades 2 - Root Stalker Mini Boss Guide

The basic strategy against Root-Stalker is to wait for it to attack while maintaining a safe distance from it. Then, strike at the enemy several times at the end of its assault.

The tentacles that grow from the ground during the fight can be a nuisance, so be sure to deal with them as soon as possible.

Once you have destroyed Root-Stalker’s barrier, it will flinch, making it easier to take down with consecutive attacks.

Root-Stalker Moveset and Attack Patterns

Note that Root-Stalker moveset and attack patterns do not have names. The names given below are based on the actions and appearance of the attacks.

Rapid Fire Attack

The Root-Stalker can fire multiple barbs at you.

Avoid this by running and dashing around the mini boss.

Melee Attack

If the Root-Stalker swings hard, it will perform a melee attack.

Avoid the move by keeping your distance from the enemy.

The move is very powerful, so be sure to avoid it.

Root Summon

Hades 2 - Root Stalker Root Summon

Root-Stalker will summon roots over a fairly wide area.

If you touch them, you will be stunned so avoid getting into contact with them during the fight.

Tentacle Attack

Hades 2 - Root Stalker Tentacle Attack

Tentacles that burrow into the ground will attack those around them when they come out. These can also emerge from the ground as you approach, so let them come out at a relatively safe time, such as at the end of the Root-Stalker’s attack.

If the tentacles appear near the Root-Stalker, it is possible to attack both of them at same time.

Attack Timing

At the end of the attack.

Hades 2 - Root Stalker Mini Boss Guide

You will get a chance to damage Root-Stalker at the end of its attack. Be careful not to commit too much, though. When the mini boss starts its attack animation, get ready to evade.

It is a good idea to always check the location of the tentacles to avoid being surprised by them hiding under the ground.

Use Omega Magic Circle.

Hades 2 - Root Stalker Magic Cicle

The Root-Stalker will not move at all during this attack, so use Omega Magic Circle to safely damage the boss.

It’s also not a bad idea to use Omega Magic Circle until you run out of mana.

If you have enhanced your character to deal damage with Magic Circle, you can easily damage the boss with a regular Magic Circle.

Clean up the tentacles quickly.

Hades 2 - Root Stalker Clean Tentacles

If there are tentacles on the battlefield, you may take damage unexpectedly. Because of this, try to clean them up as soon as possible.

Once the tentacles emerge from the ground, they will remain visible for a certain period of time, so take advantage of this to attack them.

After destroying the barrier, finish off the enemy with consecutive attacks.

Hades 2 - Root Stalcker After the Barrier

When you have destroyed Root-Stalker’s barrier, the mini boss will be flinched when you attack it. This makes it easier to finish it off with multiple strikes.

If there is no more tentacles, Root-Stalker will not be able to attack. This is basically a win for you.
