Permanent Events in Horizon Forbidden West
Below are all permanent events, unchangeable decisions, and points-of-no-return that appear in Horizon Forbidden West‘s main story. Use this guide to help you avoid making major mistakes that may negatively affect your progress throughout the game.

Skill points cannot be reallocated.
It is likely that skill points used to unlock various skills from the six skill trees cannot be reallocated once they are spent. Because of this, try to choose the skills you want Aloy to learn carefully for an easier time progressing through the early main story quests.
Disassembling resources cannot be undone.
Once you break down resources into metal shards, you cannot reverse it. Be aware of this at all times to avoid disassembling certain materials by accident.
Choosing to Kill or Spare Regalla
At the end of the main quest The Wings of Ten, you will be given the choice of whether to kill Regalla or let her live. Your choice in this decision cannot be undone afterwards and will determine whether you will be able to obtain Regalla’s unique bow Regalla’s Wrath or not.
Should You Kill or Spare Regalla?
In general, it is recommended to kill Regalla to get her powerful Sharpshot Bow. Choosing to spare her will prevent you from acquiring the weapon for the rest of the playthrough.
