New Partner Hint Feature

By pressing the ZL button, you can use the new “Partner Hint” feature which allows you to ask your companions for hints on what to do next in the game.

New Partner Ring Feature

Another new element in the game is the Partner Ring to instantly switch out allies using the L button. This was originally done on the GameCube version of Paper Mario RPG: TTYD by opening the menu but is now made easier in the Switch remake.

Pipe Room (Fast Travel Hub)

Paper Mario RPG: TTYD Remake also introduces a new clay pipe area which can be used as a fast travel hub to go to various maps. This new feature is accessible from Rogueport Main Square, making it more convenient to travel to and from areas in the game.

Fast-travel pipes also appeared in the original GameCube release, though they did not allow players to instantly reach certain areas such as Gritzville or Twilight Town.

Among the badges debuting in the remake is one that enables players to change the various BGM in the game to those from the GameCube version.

The Art Gallery and Sound Gallery features have also been added in the remake. These can be accessed to view artwork and listen to music you have collected throughout the main story.

  • Certain cut scenes have been graphically improved.
  • Display changes when some action commands are successful.
  • Some badge names have been changed.
  • The appearance of some characters have been updated.

  • The title screen has been updated (the number of characters will increase as you progress through the main story).
