Prologue: A Rogue’s Welcome Walkthrough and Guide for Paper Mario RPG: The Thousand-Year Door
Defeat Lord Crump
| 1 | Go to the center of the harbor and defeat the Lord Crump. |
|---|---|
| 2 | Defeat the boss by utilizing the jump and hammer moves. |
Reach the Town Square.
| 1 | Take the stairs to the reach the Rogueport Town Square. |
|---|
Recruit Goombela.
| 1 | Recruit Goombella as your first partner (First Party Member). |
|---|
Look for Zess T.
| 1 | Go west and speak to Zess T, a Toadstool Chef, in order to trigger the next in-game event. |
|---|---|
| 2 | After the in-game event with Zess T, she will block the west entrance of the town. |
| 3 | Get a replacement contact lens by going to Thriff T, the toadstool on the left side. |
Enter Frankly’s house.
| 1 | After purchasing a new contact lens, go east and a thief will bump into you. Your coins will be reduced to half. |

| 2 | Proceed to the east building and talk to Borodeaux. |
| 3 | Follow Frankly to the green warp pipe. |
Defeat the Goomba Trio.
| 1 | Go east and follow Frankly’s instructions on the battle. |
|---|---|
| 2 | Defeat the Goomba Trio by using the hammer against the Spiky Goomba and jump over the Paragoomba. Take down the Goomba normally. |
Explore the Sewers
| 1 | Ride the floating platform and enter another warp pipe. |
|---|---|
| 2 | Follow the pathway and break the yellow block with a hammer move. Jump into the warp pipe behind the fence. |
| 3 | Press the block to make the stairs emerge. |
| 4 | Take the stairs and go upwards. Before you enter, go left and drop down to obtain the Black Key. |
| 5 | Take the stairs again and enter the doorway. |
| 6 | Examine the treasure chest to obtain the Paper Airplane Curse. |
| 7 | Leave the room and go the left area where you fell down to test your paper ability. |
