Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon - Can You Change the Difficulty?

Can you change the game difficulty in Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon (AC6/Armored Core VI)? Included are useful tips to make the game easier and the possibility of co-op multiplayer being included in the game.

Can You Change the Difficulty in Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon?

Difficulty cannot be changed.

As with most Armored Core games, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon (AC6/Armored Core VI) will not allow you to change the difficulty at any point in the game. This means that all players will experience the same level of challenge posed by various enemies encountered throughout the game’s main missions.

Ways to Make the Game Easier

Increase AP (Armor Points)

One way to make the game somewhat easier is to equip parts with higher AP which will enable you to tank more hits in battle.

Note AC parts with high AP will typically be heavier as well so you may need to equip suitable leg units that can accommodate your mech’s greater weight. Your mobility may also suffer because of this, though this will largely depend on the type of leg and boosters you use for your AC.

Change your weapon loadout.

The sheer variety of available weapons you can attach to your AC is likely to see you doing well with certain armaments and worse with others. Try to change up your loadout as often as possible and experiment with different builds. You also do not need to stick to a specific setup as you go through all of the game’s missions.

Enable Target Assist.

You can also enable Target Assist to help you lock-on to targets as you approach them. To turn on Target Assist, press down on the right analog stick (R3) at any time during battle. Doing so allows you to fix your AC toward the direction of the enemy which may make it easier to land hits on targets, especially fast moving ones.

Equip Core Expansion parts.

Equipping Core Expansions parts is also a good way to improve survivability if you are stuck on certain missions in the game.

Many of these parts provide your AC with some form of additional defense, such as activating barriers or canceling out enemy fire. Once you have chosen a Core Expansion part that suits your playstyle, try to upgrade it as often as you can to improve its effectiveness in battle.

Is There Co-Op in Armored Core 6?

No co-op feature announced.

Armored Core 6 will not feature any online or local co-op multiplayer or any similar feature when the game launches. All players must then clear all main missions unassisted (solo), though certain levels in the game will allow you to fight alongside AI-controlled allies.
