The Moonlight laser blade is obtained via varying methods in each installment of Armored Core. The weapon is also known for being the preferred close-range weapon of high-rank enemy Ravens in the series’ recurring Arena Mode battles, likely due to the impressive attack power and length of the laser blade.

The destructive potential of the Moonlight laser blade is further improved when used by a Raven with Human Plus (Rebel) status. Pilots who have been enhanced via the Human Plus upgrade are capable of firing an exploding beam when wielding the Moonlight, giving an already impressive weapon more versatility in battle.
