Best Classes for Beginners in Diablo 4
Recommended Class for Beginners (Solo Play)
Necromancer
The Necromancer class is recommended if you mostly play the game solo (offline).
Necromancers can summon minions such as Skeletons and Golems. This lets you easily handle enemy waves by essentially letting you “spread” your offense throughout the battlefield.
In the Early Access period, Necromancer skills that were extremely powerful during the beta test were nerfed. Some Legendary Aspect for the class were also removed. The June 3 update, however, implemented new balance changes that made the Necromancer strong again overall. Because of this, we highly recommend beginners and new players to choose the Necromancer class.

Recommended Class for Beginners (Multiplayer)
Barbarian
The Barbarian class is recommended if you want to spend more time in multiplayer (online).
The Barbarian is a close-range class that can attack with various weapons.
Barbarians can buff themselves and nearby allies with shout-type skills, and can provoke nearby enemies to collect aggro. This makes the Barbarian an ideal class for doing content in the content of a party.
Against Elite enemies and bosses, you can fight while boosting your survivability by making full use of defensive skills. With their unique kit, Barbarians can go you to front lines and reduce the damage sustained by allies using classes that specialize in medium to long range combat.

All in all, all classes are good.
Every class in Diablo 4 is viable and, with the right build, can all be fun to play if they suit your preferred playstyle. This means that you should basically choose your favorite class in the game.
Useful Tips for Choosing a Class
When playing on the console version of the game, you may need time to get used to using long-range classes.
When playing on the console version of Diablo 4, a controller or gamepad is used to operate your character. This setup might require more time to get used to when playing long-range classes compared to playing on the PC version of the game.
Playing on PC lets you use a keyboard and mouse to easily aim skills (skill shot) in battle. This, however, is more difficult on a controller or gamepad (though stick controls may have been improved in the game).
If you are new to Diablo 4 and are playing on the console version, it would be a good idea to first pick a melee class such as Barbarian to get used to the game.
It is recommended to clear the story campaign with one class first.
If you clear the story campaign with one class, you can skip the story the next time you create a new class.
Also, since a mount is unlocked in the beginning of the game, exploration will be easier from when you start again.
Because of these advantages, it is recommended that you aim to clear the story campaign using one class first.
When to replay the game with a new class.
As mentioned above, if you clear the story campaign, you can skip the story when you create a new class next time. Try to move to a different class once you have beaten the final boss or are just not having fun with the one you picked.
