Can you play Diablo 4 smoothly on the Playstation 4?
It is quite hard to say that you can play the game smoothly.
Diablo 4 will also be released on Playstation 4 (PS4), but based on our experiences with the Early Access and Open Beta on the console, we could not say that it was comfortable playing.
Below are some points that we found particularly dissatisfying.
Long Load Times
The PS4 version of Diablo 4, in particular, has significantly longer loading times compared to the Playstation 5 (PS5) version.
Fast Travel, which is possible with a load time of about 5 seconds on the PS5 version, will take about 30 to 60 seconds on the PS4 version.
In addition to the loading time being too long, there were times when we were forced to log out of the game.
Lag is likely to occur in the city or field.
Lag will almost certainly occur in scenes with a large amounts of information, especially in transition scenes when you are in towns and fields.
In the PS4 version, you will often encounter situations where the output does not keep up with the loading of the screen.
No problem with the game’s combat itself.
There are quite a few drawbacks with the PS4 version of Diablo 4 such as loading and lag while moving, but it is not a game that requires intricate operation, so you can still generally play the game normally.
If you do not mind the lag while loading or moving around, we do not think that playing the PS4 version will be an issue.
It was also mentioned that the lag will be greatly reduced in the full version of the game.
There are rumors that in the Early Access and Beta Test of Diablo 4, the load was intentionally increased for experimental purposes.
So for the full version of the game, we expect the PS4 version’s load times to be shorter and for lag to be eliminated.
