How to Change Game Difficulty and Unlock Conditions in Diablo 4
Difficulty can be changed by using the World Tier Sculpture
Players can change the game difficulty anytime using the World Tier Sculpture located at the facility in the square. Depending on the chosen difficulty level, the amount of experience gained will increase, and the probability of getting better items will also increase.
However, choosing higher difficulty levels will make enemies stronger.
There are 4 difficulty levels, and items with high rarity start to drop in the 3rd stage of Nightmare Difficulty or higher.
Difficulty can be changed in the character selection menu
Players can also change the difficulty level in the character selection menu at the start of the game. The difficulty level can be changed freely at anytime, which means you don’t have to start over just to change the difficulty level.

| World Tier | Difficulty | Recommended Level | Unlock Condition |

| I | Adventurer | Level 1 – 50 | Unlocked automatically. |
| II | Veteran | Level 1 – 50 | Unlocked automatically. |
| III | Nightmare | Level 50 – 70 | Unlocked in World Tier 2: Veteran by completing the story and the Capstone Dungeon “Cathedral of Light” in Kyovashad. |
| IV | Torment | Level 70 ~ | Unlocked in World Tier 3: Nightmare by completing the Capstone Dungeon “Temple of the Fall” in the northeast of the Dry Plains. |
