How to Get Nightmare Sigils Guide for Diablo 4
Obtained from Whispers of the Dead Post-Game Event Quest (Grim Favor Exchange).
Nightmare Sigils can be obtained by doing the Whispers of the Dead post-game priority event quests.
Upon clearing the event, you will be rewarded with Grim Favors. To get a Nightmare Sigil, head to the Tree of Whispers and exchange 10 Grim Favors for it.
Obtained from World Bosses.
Nightmare Sigils can also be acquired by defeating World Bosses that spawn at various locations on the map.
How to Use Nightmare Sigils
Can be used from the consumable items column (inventory).
Nightmare Sigils can be used from the consumable items column on the right side of the equipment column.
When you use a Nightmare Sigil, the associated normal dungeon will be upgraded to a Nightmare Dungeon.
Nightmare Dungeon are marked by a red icon on the map.
Regular dungeons that have been promoted to Nightmare Dungeons will have a red icon on the map.
Clearing a Nightmare Dungeon once reverts it back to its normal state.
Nightmare Dungeons have additional dungeon mechanics which are described in their corresponding Nightmare Sigil. This makes them very different from normal dungeons.
A dungeon upgraded to Nightmare Dungeon will return to normal once you have cleared it.
There can only be one (1) active Nightmare Dungeon at a time.
You can only have one active Nightmare Dungeon on the map at any given time.
Using a new Nightmare Sigil while a previously unlocked Nightmare Dungeon that has not yet been cleared will cause the old Nightmare Dungeon to revert back to normal. The Nightmare Dungeon unlocked using the new Nightmare Sigil will become the active on instead.
