How to Play Multiplayer
Send a Friend Request to other players
How to Send a Friend Request
Open the “Map and Journal” screen and select “Social”.
In the “Social” screen, select “Add Friend” and enter the player’s Battle Tag you want to be friends with.
A new player will be added to your friend list once your friend request is accepted.
Invite your friends to the party and play multiplayer
To invite your friend to a party, first select a friend and then select “Invite to Party”.
If the player accepts your invitation, you can call that player on your field and play multiplayer.
In addition, if a player requests to join your party, you can both play together as allies if you accept the request.
However, if the other player has not completed the Prologue, you won’t be able to invite them to your party.
Request to join a party
If you want to play multiplayer on your friends’ field, select the option “Request to Join Party”.
You will be able to play on your friends’ field if they approve the request.
Lastly, if you accept an invitation to join a party from other players, you will play multiplayer on their field.
How many players can join a party?
Maximum of 4 players
In multiplayer, a party can have a maximum of 4 players.
The game supports Cross-platform play
The game supports cross-platform play, which means you can play multiplayer with players across different platforms.
For example, multiplayer between PC users and PS4 / PS5 users is possible.
How to Trade (Exchange Items)
Select “Request Transaction”
During multiplayer (after a party is formed), you can exchange items with other party members.
To do this, open “Map and Journal” and select the member you want to trade with. After that, simply select “Request Trade” and proceed with the transaction.
Players can also make a trade by approaching a player in the field. When you are close enough, press the D-Pad Up and select “Request a Trade with XX”.
Trade Procedures
Select the item to trade and place it in the box on the left side of the screen.
Furthermore, during the transaction, players can change the category of items, which implies that they can trade not only equipment but also consumable items.
Players can exchange gold as well.
Once you have decided on which items or how much gold you want to trade, you are now ready to make your bids.
If the other player is also set, the “Agree to Trade” option will appear in green font.
After both of you are set, select “Confirm Transaction” to complete the trade.
Some items cannot be traded
Some items can be traded, and some cannot.
Most of the items can be traded or exchanged, although some items, specifically World Boss loot and some Legendary items, cannot be traded.
- Legendary items marked “Non-Transferable”
- World Boss Loot, etc.

Enemy level is adjusted
During multiplayer, enemy levels scale with each player’s level.
As a result, cooperative play can still be enjoyed by players of all levels.
Experience points are obtained individually
Each player can obtain experience points for defeating enemies.
Each player can also obtain experience points from quests, but if they have already cleared the quest, they won’t receive the experience points twice.
Items can be obtained individually
The game has a Smart Loot system, which allows the items to be obtained individually and has a significant probability of being distinct to your character during multiplayer.
Items discarded on the field cannot be picked up by other party members
Discarded items by other party members will not appear on your screen.
Which means if you want an item from them, use the “Trade” feature instead.
Unexplored maps will not be unlocked unless you explore them yourself
Areas and dungeons being explored by party members will not appear on the map until you have already explored them yourself.
Party members can also progress in the game’s events
If you are the host of the party, you can progress with the game’s events even if it was your party member that talked to the NPC.
However, event skips are not shared.
Therefore, if you don’t want to unintentionally skip an event, inform your party members about it.
