Utilize the objects and obstacles on the battlefield.
During a battle, you can use the objects and obstacles to hide or provide cover for your characters. They will enter a “Guard” state if you end their turn while being covered by an object.
Guard can protect you from enemy’s long-range attacks.
Guard prevents your character from being knocked down and reduces the damage from long-range attacks. In addition, if there’s an object or obstacle between your character and the enemy’s line of fire, the incoming attack will be blocked, resulting in 0 damage and rendering your enemy’s attack useless.

Your enemies can also use objects and obstacles as cover.
The Cover mechanic sure gives a lot of advantage in the battlefield, but keep in mind that this mechanic can also be used and taken advantage of your enemies. With that being said, it is best to plan ahead and avoid being outplayed by your enemies. It is difficult to deal with enemies that have their Guards up, but you can always break them by using melee attacks and skill attacks.
