Fishing Guide for Ys X: Nordics
About Fishing
Normal Fishing
You can fish in fields and dungeons where you can see fish shadows swimming on the water’s surface.
- Pick a fishing spot and choose which bait you want to use.
- After selecting “Hit”, press the O button repeatedly and operate the analog stick.
- When the fishing gauge hits its maximum point, you are guaranteed to reel in a fish.
Fill up the Support Gauge.
If you follow and perform the on-screen actions while fishing, your support gauge will fill up quickly. Once the support gauge is full, it will activate the support effects of your allies, allowing you to catch a fish easier.
Tuna Fishing
There is a chance of catching tuna at sea. Therefore, keep an eye out for good fishing places while you cruise around the Obelia Bay. If you ever find yourself in the ocean and come across a good fishing spot, you might want to give tuna fishing a shot.
Fishing Rewards
You might get rewarded if you show your fishing results to Joel, who happens to be really interested in fishing.
On top of that, there are rare items and equipment included in some of the rewards. Therefore, it is recommended to report any new species you come across in order to get these rewards.
