Game Overview

FIFA 22 is the 29th installment of the long-running and acclaimed football simulation franchise FIFA after FIFA 21. Featuring over 30 official leagues, 700 teams, and 17,000 authentic players. FIFA 22 will include new features such as Hypermotion technology and improved game modes, including Ultimate Team, Volta Football, and Career Mode.

Hypermotion (Playstation 5, Xbox Xeries X/S, and Google Stadia Version Only)

Among the most notable features introduced in FIFA 22 is hypermotion technology for the Playstation 5, Xbox Xeries X/S, and Google Stadia versions of the game. This applies the traits of real-world footballers to their in-game counterparts and replicates their movement on the pitch.

Over 4,000 character animations have been added to the game which can be seen through various actions and events during matches.

FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT)

FIFA 22’s Ultimate Team (FUT) Mode will add new FUT Heroes cards to the game. These special player cards have unique chemistry with specific leagues based on the player’s hero moment. In addition to the traditional nation link, FUT Heroes player cards will have a green club link to any player from the same league.

Player card stats are also boosted when they belong to the team featured in the team of the week. This allows them to perform based on the player’s real life achievements.

Career Mode

New features and improvements have also been implemented in FIFA 22’s Career Mode. While earlier FIFA titles limited players to managing an existing team in Career Mode, FIFA 2 gives players the freedom to build and customize their team from scratch. Players can also choose their team’s home and away gear, club crest, and home stadium, and can be changed at the start of each career season.

FIFA 22 will also accommodate substituting benched players and let them take to the pitch during matches.

Volta Football

Volta Football, another returning game mode, features new player mechanics which can activate special Signature Abilities during a match. These abilities are Power Strike, Pure Pace, and Aggressive Tackle.

Players can also choose to play various mini games in Volta Arcade which allows them to engage in matches with up to three players online.

Pro Clubs

Pro Clubs also makes a return in FIFA 22 where players take control of their very own professional football player and play against other people online. Player progression remains tied to match rating, with skill points earned as players engage in more matches on their way to make it from Division 10 to Division 1 rankings.

Indian Super League and UEFA Europa Conference League

FIFA 22 will also include the Indian Super League, allowing players to manage and train players from its 11 team. The UEFA Europa Conference League, the third tier of European football, was also added to the game.
