Differences in Nightmare Difficulty

Nightmare mode is the game’s most challenging difficulty setting. Ghost enemies are more aggressive and have increased health and damage output similar to Hard mode.

What makes Nightmare difficulty incredibly demanding in terms of player skill is the fact that you cannot purchase items such as Herbal Medicine, Scared Water, or any Film (Type 14 and Type 61) from the shop. This means that you will need to manage your resources more so than in any other difficulty mode to survive throughout the game’s story chapters.
