How to Unlock New Game Plus (NG+)

After beating all 13 main story chapters of Fatal Frame / Project Zero 4: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse Remaster (Project Zero 4 Remake), New Game Plus (NG+) will be unlocked. This mode allows you to replay all chapters from the beginning with certain elements from your previous run carried over.

NG+ also lets you play on a different difficulty, including Hard and Nightmare difficulty, once you have unlocked them if you prefer a more challenging experience. Being able to use items you stockpiled on your last playthrough is especially helpful for going through the game on Nightmare mode since you cannot purchase any supplies from the shop throughout your run.

Below are all gameplay elements carried over when starting NG+ on any difficulty setting.

• All consumable items (Herbal Medicine, Sacred Water, Type 14 Film, Type 61 Film)

Things to Do in NG+

Play on harder difficulty modes to unlock more features.

Once you have beaten the game on Normal, you can start your NG+ playthrough on Hard difficulty. Once you have cleared the game again on Hard, Nightmare difficulty will become available. Note that there are various cosmetic items that will be added to the Spirit Points shop for clearing the game once, twice, and thrice. The special Power-Up Lens (Moon), meanwhile, can only be obtained after you have completed all story chapters on Nightmare difficulty.

Beating the game on Hard or Nightmare also lets you view the game’s second ending. This alternate ending features a different closing soundtrack from the first ending as well as content revealing the fate of one of the playable characters.
