How to Adjust Aim Sensitivity in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (CoD: MW3)
Can be changed from the Controller menu under Settings.
Your controller’s aim sensitivity in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (CoD: MW3) can be changed at any time from game’s main menu by going to the Controller options under Settings.
Steps to Adjust Aim Sensitivity
| 1 | From the game’s main menu, open the game sub-menu by pressing the Start or Options button (gamepad). On PC, open the sub-menu from the top right corner of the screen. |

| 2 | Use the trigger buttons (gamepad) to go to Settings (indicated by the gear icon). Use your mouse to click on it on PC. |
| 3 | Select Controller (below Quick Settings). |
| 4 | Use the trigger buttons (gamepad) to go to the Aiming tab. Use your mouse to click on it on PC. |
| 5 | Set your preferred Horizontal Stick Sensitivity, Vertical Stick Sensitivity, etc. |
| 6 | Exit the menu to save your new settings. |
Recommended Aim Sensitivity Settings
Start with 5 to 6 horizontal and vertical aim sensitivity.
If you are new to the Call of Duty series or FPS games in general, try to set your controller’s horizontal and vertical aim sensitivity level to 5 or 6. This range is usually the best starting point to get used to aiming at any range.
Once you get better at aiming your sights or begin to feel 5 to 6 aim sensitivity to be too slow, slightly increase the value until you are comfortable enough to occasionally land headshots during matches.
Aim Sensitivity Adjustment Based on Weapon Type
Increase aim sensitivity for close-range weapons.
It is generally a good idea to have higher horizontal aim sensitivity when using close-range weapons like shotguns or submachine guns via the Advanced Settings. This is to allow you to track enemies much more easily as targets will be able to move away faster from where your gun is aimed during close-range firefights.
Lower aim sensitivity for long-range weapons.
Conversely, aiming with weapons like assault rifle, marksman rifles, and sniper rifles is much easier with lower sensitivity. You will generally be able to land more headshots by making small adjustments to your aim with smaller aim sensitivity values.
