How to Level Up Fast in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (CoD: MW3)
Tips to Earn XP Fast
Prioritize match objectives over kills (Hardpoint, Domination, and Kill Confirmed).
You will more XP to level up faster by focusing on meeting objectives during Hardpoint, Domination, and Kill Confirmed matches than racking up as many kills as possible.
Because of this, try to prioritize the specific goals of each game mode (such as securing or defending objectives and hardpoints or collecting dog tags), if you want to gain levels faster in the game.
Summary of XP Earned for Game Mode Objectives
|Hold Hardpoint||10 (per second)|
|Captured Objective Kill||150|
|Collect Enemy Dogtag||75|
|Collect Teammate Dogtag||25|
Use Double Player XP Tokens.
When grinding XP online, be sure to use Double Player XP Tokens to temporarily gain levels significantly faster than normal. The effects of using token last for 1 hour which is more than enough time to level up a few times, especially during the early stages.
Double Player XP Tokens (as well as Double Weapon XP Tokens) are obtained as rewards via progression, including beating certain campaign missions throughout the game.
Complete Daily Challenges.
Daily Challenges are also a good source of XP so it is recommended to check-off as many of them whenever you log into the game. Try to play every day if you can if only just to clear Daily Challenges to level up steadily in the game.
Complete Weapon Challenges.
You can also earn a lot of XP by spending time clearing Weapon Challenges in the game. These optional objectives often require you land shots from a considerable range or even place headshots during matches using specific guns.
In addition to rewarding you with hefty amounts of XP, Weapon Challenges encourage you to practice your aim with various firearms so you can become a better player in the long-run.
Use ACS field equipment to steadily earn XP.
Deploying the ACS (field equipment) in specific capture points lets you passively earn XP which is extremely useful during Domination, Hardpoint, and Kill Confirmed matches. Just remember to keep your guard up while looking for a good spot to place the ACS as enemies are likely lying in wait for you to get in their sights.
Play during double XP events (weekends and special events).
You should also take advantage of limited-time double XP events if you want to grind levels as fast as possible. Double XP weekends are usually the best time to farm XP as well as special collaboration events announced on the game’s official channels.
Participating in collaboration events is particularly rewarding as you also get the chance to receive limited weapon blueprints and Operator skins in addition to higher XP gain than normal.
Stack kills to earn XP.
Finally, getting as many kills as you can during matches also rewards you with lots of XP. Just make sure to stick to objectives that benefits your team instead of only racking up points via body count as you will gain levels faster with the former.
Do Double XP Effects Stack?
Double XP Tokens do not stack with each other (to be confirmed).
While yet to be confirmed, it is expected that Double XP Token effects will not stack with each other in the game, preventing you from temporarily gaining 4X Player XP (Double Player XP Tokens) or 4X Weapon XP (Double Weapon XP Tokens).
Double XP Tokens do not stack with Double XP Weekends (to be confirmed).
The effects of Double Player XP Tokens and Double Weapon XP Tokens are also not likely to stack during Double XP Weekends. This means that it is also not possible to get a quad multiplier on player or weapon XP gain at any point in the game.
Benefits of Leveling Up
Unlocks new weapons, Operator skins, and features.
Leveling up gives you access to new weapons, Operator skins, and other useful features which can improve your performance online. More options also lets you experiment with different loadouts until you find one that is most comfortable for each type of game mode.
