How to Slide Cancel in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (CoD: MW3)
Press the crouch or jump button while sliding.
To perform a slide cancel in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (CoD: MW3), tap the crouch or jump button in the middle of the sliding maneuver. Doing so allows you to immediately aim and fire your weapon as you come out of the quick slide.

The slide cancel technique is very useful for fighting at close-range and is frequently used in high levels of competitive play.
Crouch slides can be performed from a tactical sprint.
You can immediately go into a slide by pressing the crouch/slide button in the middle of a tactical sprint.
To do a tactical sprint, tap the left analog stick twice. Note that you can set tactical sprints automatically from the settings as well which lets you do the move just by tapping the left analog stick once.
Best Settings to Do Slide Cancels
Default setting is recommended.
The default control setting (tap ◯, B, or C to slide) is the best configuration for performing slide cancels. Unlike the alternate setting (hold ◯, B, or C to slide), there will be less delay in slide cancel input which makes it easier to pull off the technique rapidly during combat.
Overall, just choose the control setting that feels most natural for you to consistently perform slide cancels without messing it up in the game.
