Egg Guide for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince (DQ Monsters: The Dark Prince)
How to Reroll Eggs
1 | Turn Off Autosave |
---|---|
2 | Go to the Demon World map that you want to reroll the egg and take all the egg in that map (Max 3 egg) |
3 | Fight 10 battles (Egg respawn condition) |
4 | Move to another demon world map (any map is OK) and save. |
5 | Go back to the demon world map in ② and search for egg |
6 | If you didn’t get the egg that you want, load your save and start again from step ⑤. |
7 | If you got the egg that you want and wanted to continue farming start again from step ②. |
Obtain all eggs in the map (maximum of 3 eggs).
As a preparation, get all the eggs in the map that you want to reroll. Up to three eggs can appear on the field, so you need to search the map thoroughly.
Fight 10 battles to make eggs respawn.
After you got all the 3 egg, defeat the enemies on the field 10 times. Any enemy in the field is fine as long as it’s in the field that you want the egg to respawn.
Save in another demon world map.
The contents of the egg are determined the moment you enter that demon world map, so you need to save in another demon world in order to reset it. After saving in another map, return to the map where you fought 10 battles and look for the egg.
The position of the egg is different each time you return.
The position of the eggs is different each time you return, so even if you go to the same place, it won’t guarantee you to get the egg again. Try to search from a place with a good view and try to reroll as many times as you can until you find the egg that you’re looking for.
Get the Season Flute to speed up egg rerolls.
If you have the “Season Flute”, the item that you can get after clearing the game, you will be able to switch seasons at any time. Egg rerolling will use a lot of Season gimmicks, so if you plan to farm eggs regularly, you’ll want to have it with you.
Reroll in the map where you can easily find the monster you want.
The egg exclusive monsters that are likely to appear differ depending on the maps. If you do the egg rerolling in other maps, it will be extremely difficult to get the eggs that you want, so be careful.
Recommended to reroll at advanced maps
When aiming to get silver eggs, golden eggs and rainbow eggs, advanced maps is recommended in all of the demon worlds. The probability of getting a white egg is high in the beginner maps and as the difficulty level of the demon world increases, the probability of getting a white egg is divided into golden eggs and rainbow eggs.
Hyperanemon and Mortoad are recommended to farm in the human world (forest)
Hyperanemon and Mortoad are more likely to appear in the human world and it’s recommended to reroll farm in the “plains/forests” rather than the “plains” in the human world. The “plains/forest” maps is small, so you don’t have to spend much time looking for the eggs, so rerolling is easy. If you have been to the “Plains/Forests” at least once after unlocking the eggs feature, you will need to fight 200 battle to respawn the eggs, but it is still more efficient than rerolling in the wide “Plains”.
How to Get Eggs
Eggs appear based on your progress during the main story.
Eggs in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince will appear on the map after progressing through the story to a certain extent, so they do not appear on the map at the start of the game.

Eggs in the game hatch on the spot and do not have unique names.
In previous games, eggs had meaningful names but in this game, eggs hatch wherever you find them and monsters based on the egg colors are born.
Egg Color and Monster Rank
The color of the egg determines the monster’s rank.
White | Silver | Gold | Rainbow |
---|---|---|---|
G~F | E~D | C~B | A |
There are four different colors of eggs that appear on the map and the rank of the monster that is born is determined by the color from white to rainbow. Additionally, the color of the egg changes the moment it is born, so you won’t be able to tell whether the egg is a rare color until just before it is born.
Rainbow eggs are most likely to appear in advanced level maps.
Rainbow eggs have higher chance to appear overwhelmingly easy to appear, and the probability of whites being low is low, so you want to aim for high-rank monsters! In such cases, we recommend looking for high-quality eggs.
Egg monsters can learn different skills than normal.
Monsters born from eggs may acquired egg exclusive skills or rare combination skills in addition to the skills they possess when they are recruited through scouting or other activities. Although the chance of getting the rare skills will vary depending on the color of the egg, there is a possibility to get the rare skills even from white eggs, so be sure to check it every time.
Egg Exclusive Monsters
Among the monsters born from eggs, there are some monsters that cannot be recruited through scouting or synthesising. Also, some egg exclusive monsters is one of the synthesis condition for high rank monsters, so be sure to look for eggs when you are walking around the map.
