Parent monsters disappear after synthesis.

Parent monsters used as materials for monster synthesis will disappear after the offspring has been created. This also applies to special 4-monster combinations.

Because of this, it is recommended to turn off autosave from the game’s settings so you do not lose monsters by accidentally fusing them.

DQ Monsters: The Dark Prince Monster Synthesis List

Monsters you let go cannot be retrieved.

Scouted monsters that you choose to release are also gone forever. There is no way to undo the action afterwards, though you will receive items as parting gifts from monsters you let go. As with monster synthesis, be sure to turn off autosave and create a back up save file as often as possible to avoid losing monsters by mistake.

You cannot respec Skill Points (SP).

Skill Points (SP) spent on unlocking monster skills cannot be respecced at any point in the game. As all learned abilities are permanent, you cannot reset the ones you unlocked or refund SP afterwards.

In-game language set at the start of the game cannot be changed.

Once you have confirmed the game language you want to play on at the start of the game, it cannot be changed. The only way to play on a different language is to start a New Game and create a new save file.

Note that changing the language from the Nintendo Switch’s console settings itself also does not have any effect on your chosen language in the game.
