Metal Slime Farming Guide for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince (DQ Monsters: The Dark Prince)
Metal Slime Locations and Spawn Conditions
Metal Slime, Liquid Metal Slime, and Metal King Slime only appear in Middle and Upper level areas in the demon realm. They spawn at random in any season so you can hunt and farm them at any time during the main story.
Monster | Location | Spawn Conditions |
---|---|---|
Metal Slime | Starts appearing randomly in Middle and Upper Echelon areas. | |
Liquid Metal Slime | Starts appearing randomly in Upper Echelon areas. | |
Metal King Slime | Starts appearing randomly in Upper Echelon areas. |
How to Farm Metal Slimes
Save manually before engaging Metal Slimes (turn off auto-save).
The number and type of Metal Slimes that appear after engaging one in battle is random but can be rerolled to your advantage. When you see a Metal Slime type enemy on the map, save your game manually by turning off auto-save.
How to Turn Off Auto-Save in DQ Monsters: The Dark Prince
When you are ready, engage the Metal Slime enemy. Try to aim for up to 4 Metal Slime monsters in one battle. This way, you will be able to take down as many of them before they run away.
If only one Metal Slime enemy appears or if you do not take down any of them in battle fast enough, just reload your save and try again.
Organize a monster team with the right stats, traits, and skills.
Use monsters with high Agility.
Monsters with high agility can act first before Metal Slime enemies have a chance to flee from battle. Try to build a team of fast attackers, especially those that can act twice so you can burst down Metal Slimes with constant and lightning-fast offense.
Metal Medley (Trait)
You must deal enough damage to Metal Slime monsters so you can take them down before they run away. Because of this, it is recommended to hunt Metal Slime monsters using creatures with the Metal Medley trait.
The Metal Medley characteristic ignores the Metal Body characteristic of Metal Slime enemies, allowing you to damage them normally. Otherwise, you will not be able to take down the Metal Slimes fast enough, resulting in them getting away.
Annihilation Eye (Skill)
Using the Annihilation Eye skill is also effective for taking down Metal Slime monsters quickly. This skill deals massive damage to all enemies based on the level of your ally monsters and is ideal for stacking damage against Metal Slimes.
Multifists (Skill)
Multifists is another powerful skill that randomly damages enemies 4 times in succession. Metal Slime enemies can fall quickly if you manage to land hits on them rapidly before they can escape.
Sword Dance (Skill)
Sword Dance is essentially an improved version of Multifists, with the latter randomly hitting targets 3 to 7 times in a row.
Use items that increase EXP when fighting Metal Slime enemies.
Items such as Bonus Balls and Bumper Bonus Balls that grant you increased EXP gain for a limited number of battles are perfect for farming Metal Slime enemies. Just be sure to save your game before using them and engaging Metal Slimes so you can maximize the amount of EXP you get for taking them down.
