Best Car Upgrades

We’ve created a set of car upgrades that matter most throughout the game. However, recommendations are still influenced by your personal tastes and driving style.

Differential Tuning Features

If you worked on the Differential of your car, it would have an impact on its traction, stability, and handling. All are essential elements related to drifting.

The following are the car upgrades related to tuning your Differential:

  • Front/Rear Bias
  • Acceleration/Deceleration

Forza Motorsport 8 Drifting Guide

Front/Rear Bias

This car setting centers on how much torque is supplied to the front or back wheels. By dragging a slider from 0% (front) to 100% (rear), you may change the torque supply.

The best torque setting is determined by your car’s drivetrain and driving style.

For Drifting

For drifting, you want to assign more power to the back wheels since it helps your car to launch and maintain slides.

Front/Rear Bias Notes

Excessive Rear Bias can make the car unstable and difficult to control. You can resolve this by trial and error of these settings. In order to see the fit, see how your car respond to throttle inputs when racing along corners.

Acceleration/Deceleration

This car setting refers to how much the wheels lock together during acceleration and deceleration. Drag the slider from 0% (open) to 100% (locked) to apply adjustments.

The best setting for Acceleration/Deceleration is determined by your car’s power, weight, and tires.

Forza Motorsport 8 Weight Reduction vs Power Increase

For Drifting

Increase your acceleration and reduce your deceleration values. This will result in transmitting power to your car’s wheels and change in speed with your car’s throttle.

Acceleration/Deceleration Notes

Don’t have a too high and too low values on your car’s Acceleration/Deceleration. Again, try different values and see how your car will respond to the throttle adjustments especially in bending driveways. If you failed to do so, you will be ending up understeering or oversteering through the curve roads.

Differential Tuning Tips

Setting Suggested Tuning
Use Rear-wheel Drive (RWD).
  • Begin with a RWD car that has enough power and torque to readily break traction.
Change to a Sports or Racing Tire.
  • Upgrade to sport or racing tires for improved grip and handling. Only do this if you have enough credits.
Adjust Front/Rear Bias.
  • Set your front/rear bias to 65% or higher, depending on the drivetrain and weight distribution of your car.
Modify your Front Acceleration.
  • Set your Front Acceleration to roughly 20% or lower, depending on the power and steering angle of your car.
Set your Front Deceleration.
  • Set the Front Deceleration to 0% to avoid locking the front wheels when braking.
Adjust your Rear Acceleration.
  • Set your Rear Acceleration to 80% or higher, depending on the power of your car and tire width.
Alter your Rear Deceleration.
  • Set your Rear Deceleration to roughly 20% or higher, depending on the weight and body roll of your car.
Set your driving preferences.
  • To personalize your car and driving style, modify your brake balance, anti-roll bars, springs, dampers, camber, toe, and caster.
