Ways to Earn CP

Level up your car.

You earn 100 t0 250 CP each time your car levels up in Forza Motorsport 8 (2023). To raise your car’s level, you must earn car XP (CXP) by performing any of the actions and feats listed below during Career Mode races, Free Play, and other events.

  • Overtake other rival cars in a race. – This is as straightforward as it sounds. You will earn XP each time you pass a rival driver during each race in Builder’s Cup Career Mode. To maximize the XP you earn through this method, try starting at the last grid position (starting line) so that you can overtake all other cars at least once to win.
  • Clear segments of a tracks. – You are also rewarded XP for clearing specific sections or “segments” of a course. More points are given for clearing a segment within the target time, though you will still get XP if you do not meet it.
  • Clear bonus objectives. – Meeting optional objectives such as clearing a certain number of laps within the bonus timer will reward you with additional XP to level up.

Auto-Farming CP in Free Play Mode

It is possible to farm CP by leveling up your car in Free Play Mode. Follow the steps below on how to set-up auto-farming by enabling Driving Assists under Settings. This allows you to reach car level 50 (max level) with any vehicle easily without having to stay behind the wheel for the duration.

Steps to Set-up CP Auto-Farm

1 In Free Play mode, go to Advanced Event Setup.
2 For Game Type, choose Circuit.
3 For the Track, choose Choose Le Mans – Circuit International de la Sarthe with Track Layout set to Old Mulsanne Circuit.
4 Set the Number of Laps to as man as you want (depending on how long you want to grind for Car XP).
5 Set the Number of Drivatars to 0 (no rival cars).
6 Proceed to the racetrack.
7 Before starting the race, go to Difficulty from the pre-race menu.
8 For the Rules, set it to Club Rules (this will keep your car from spending fuel or wearing out your tires during farming).
9 Exit the Difficulty menu and go to Settings.
10 Enable Fully Assisted, Assisted, Fully Assisted, and Automatic for Braking, Throttle, Steering, and Shifting respectively (under Driving Assists).
11 Exit the Settings menu and begin the race. Your car will now drive automatically around the course, allowing you to gain CP whenever you level up without having to drive your vehicle manually.

Requires you to confirm the “Are You Still Playing?” prompt every 15 minutes.

One of the features in the game is to ask if you are “still playing” when it has not detected any input from your controller or steering wheel for 15 minutes. Unfortunately, there is currently no reliable workaround to let you bypass this notification. Because of this, you may need to attend to the prompt every 15 minutes to keep farming CP.

What is CP?

CP or Car Points are a type of resource in Forza Motorsport 8 used to install upgrades on your car at the Upgrade Shop. In previous Forza titles, you simply needed to spend money (credits) to purchase and apply new parts and modifications to your vehicle, though this has apparently been changed in the latest entry.
