Newly Improved Tire Physics

According to the official Forza Motorsport 8 website, the tire physics has been greatly improved from prior titles. The car’s acceleration, cornering, and braking are more realistic and enjoyable thanks to the 48x improvement in tire fidelity.

In addition, the new tire physics has 8 points of contact with the track surface, which runs at 360 cycles per second. Because of this, tires can find traction on any surface, no matter how bumpy the road is. The end result is improved drivability on all surfaces and more realistic behavior around obstacles, specifically curbs.

Selecting a Tire Compound

There are several tire compounds available in Forza Motorsport, which enables the game to accommodate a wide range of racing styles and competition over a variety of production cars and race cars.

Production cars can choose to use Street, Performance, Race, Drag, and Wet tires.

Race tires, on the other hand, have three distinct compounds: Soft, Medium, and Hard. These compounds have different grip and durability qualities. Soft tires are excellent for Qualifying since they provide the most grip but wear out the quickest. Despite having the least grip, the Hard compound can go the distance without wearing out, thus making it a suitable option for long races.

Furthermore, there is also a tire for classic cars called Vintage. This tire is exclusive to classic cars and cannot be selected for other cars.
