Best Equipment for Early Game in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Recommended Gear from Chapter 1 to 2
Kasuga (Hero)
From the start of the game to Chapter 2, have Kasuga in the Hero job use the Rough Square Timber as his weapon. This bat has surprisingly high stats from the time you are able to buy it at Yamabiko until you replace it once you arrive in Hawaii. Armor and accessories for Kasuga, meanwhile, can all be bought at Love Magic with the exception of the Helmet (headgear) which is found in Seiryu Clan HQ during the main story.
Gear | Name | Stats | How to Get |
---|---|---|---|
Weapon | Rough Square Timber | Attack 14, Magic 12 | Buy: Yamabiko ($50) |
Headgear | Helmet | Defense 5, Magic Defense 4 | Loot: Seiryu Clan HQ |
Body Armor | Pure White Briefs | Defense 4, Magic Defense 4 | Buy: Love Magic |
Leg Armor | Gore Boots | Defense 3, Magic Defense 3 | Buy: Love Magic |
Accessory 1 | Health Ring | Attack 5 |

Accessory 2 | Health Ring | Attack 5 |

Nanba (Homeless Guy)
Get the Bamboo Broom for Nanba as soon as possible as this is the only armament upgrade available to him at the start of the game until Chapter 2. Just buy the same armor you have on Kasuga from Love Magic for Nanba but stop by Manu Parekaiko to get a pair of Toy Bracelets to increase your Magic.
Gear | Name | Stats | How to Get |
---|---|---|---|
Weapon | Bamboo Broom | Attack 2, Magic 6 | Buy: Love Magic |
Headgear | |||
Body Armor | Pure White Briefs | Defense 4, Magic Defense 4 | Buy: Love Magic |
Leg Armor | Gore Boots | Defense 3, Magic Defense 3 | Buy: Love Magic |
Accessory 1 | Toy Bracelet | Magic 5 |

Accessory 2 | Toy Bracelet | Magic 5 | Buy: Manu Parekaiko ($72) |
Adachi (Detective)
As with Nanba’s Bamboo Broom, the Jumbo Sausage is the only weapon you can buy to give Adachi higher attack power at the start of the game until Chapter 2. Then, just equip Adachi with the same armor you buy for Kasuga and Nanba at Love Magic. For accessories, get two Luxury Belts from Barnes & Evans so Adachi can use skills more often in battle.
Gear | Name | Stats | How to Get |
---|---|---|---|
Weapon | Jumbo Sausage | Attack 5, Magic 3 | Buy: Love Magic |
Headgear | |||
Body Armor | Pure White Briefs | Defense 4, Magic Defense 4 | Buy: Love Magic |

Accessory 2 | Luxury Belt | MP 10 | Buy: Barnes & Evans ($72) |
Recommended Gear in Chapter 3
Kasuga (Hero)
As soon as you reach Chapter 3, Kasuga’s gear will all be replaced with stronger weapons, armor and accessories. Be sure to get the Metal Bat to raise his attack power to 42 which can then be upgraded to a Barbed Wire Bat in Chapter 4.
Since you must keep Kasuga alive at all times during battle to avoid a Game Over, focus on giving him more Defense, Magic Defense, and HP when picking out armor and accessories. Good ones to get are listed in the table below.
Gear | Name | Stats | How to Get |
---|---|---|---|
Weapon | Metal Bat | Attack 42, Magic 38 | Buy: Panteras Sports Kingdom ($500) |
Headgear | Straw Hat | Defense 9, Magic Defense 8 | Buy: Anaconda Sports Store |
Body Armor | Running Wear | Defense 12, Magic Defense 10 | Buy: Anaconda Sports Store |
Leg Armor | Loafers | Defense 9, Magic Defense 8 | Buy: Fiddler Brand |
Accessory 1 | Bangle | Attack 3, HP 10 | Buy: ABC Store (West Waikiki) |
Accessory 2 | Quarreling | HP 40 | Reward: Aloha Links (Registered 5 Friends) |
Kiryu (Dragon of Dojima)
Kiryu’s Dragon of Dojima job does not equip weapons, allowing you to save money at this point to buy gear for other characters. His loadout for armor are the same as those Kasuga will use upon reaching Chapter 3. For accessories, have one of the Luxury Belts that you put on Adachi transferred to Kiryu and pair it with a Fighter Belt to compensate for Kiryu’s lackluster MP.
Gear | Name | Stats | How to Get |
---|---|---|---|
Headgear | Straw Hat | Defense 9, Magic Defense 8 | Buy: Anaconda Sports Store |
Body Armor | Running Wear | Defense 12, Magic Defense 10 | Buy: Anaconda Sports Store |
Leg Armor | Loafers | Defense 9, Magic Defense 8 | Buy: Fiddler Brand |
Accessory 1 | Fighter Belt | MP 20 | Buy: Fiddler Brand |
Accessory 2 | Luxury Belt | MP 10 | Buy: Barnes & Evans ($72) |
Tomizawa (Cabbie)
Tomizawa’s Cabbie job which excels at both physical and magic attacks greatly benefits from using the Wheel Wrench so get it for him as soon as possible. You can also upgrade the armament to the Ignite Wrench in Chapter 4 which makes buying the weapon even more worthwhile during the early stages.
Tomizawa’s armor is just the same as those recommended for Kasuga and Kiryu at this stage. You will, however, want to have Tomizawa running a pair of Luxury Belts as his Cabbe job is heavily-reliant on skills to fulfill his role in the team well in battle.
Gear | Name | Stats | How to Get |
---|---|---|---|
Weapon | Wheel Wrench | Attack 40, Magic 40 | Buy: Wink Mini Mart ($500) |

Leg Armor | Loafers | Defense 9, Magic Defense 8 | Buy: Fiddler Brand |
