What happens when you die in battle?

Lose 20% of money you are carrying when you respawn.

Dying in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth causes you to lose 20% (or 1/5) of your money upon respawning. Because of this, it is generally recommended to restart your game by loading a prior save if you want to avoid losing any money after getting a Game Over.

Note that you only lose money you have in your possession when you die. Any money deposited in your ATM is not affected.

Below are available options that appear when you die in main story battles.

Tips to Avoid Losing Money after Dying

Save your game as often as possible.

Be sure to save your game frequently so you can reload any time you die in battle instead of having to pay 10% or 20% of money on-hand to restart the fight or respawn from the nearest checkpoint.

Deposit your money at the ATM before taking on tough enemies like main story bosses and Keepers of the City.

It is also highly recommended to deposit money at the ATM before fighting main story bosses or Keepers of the City enemies found all throughout the map to avoid losing a lot of money if you die.

This is becomes especially important the more money you accumulate in your person as 10% of what you saved up can amount to a lot of money if you have been farming for a while without depositing some of it at an ATM.

Do not hesitate to run away if enemies are too strong (random battles).

You can always flee from non-mandatory battles in the game, especially if your enemy has the upper-hand in terms of level, damage attributes, and other factors. There is no penalty for running away so consider the option to avoid dying needlessly throughout the main story.

Conditions for Getting a Game Over

Kasuga (main character) is knocked out.

The only conditions to get a Game Over in battle is when Kasuga’s HP is reduced to zero. The battle still continues even when all other party members are incapacitated.

Because of this, you should prioritize Kasuga’s survivability more than the other characters by equipping him with the best gear you find in the game or have allies frequently heal him, especially during tough encounters.
