Can You Change the Difficulty?

Can be changed in the game’s settings menu.

Which Difficulty Should You Choose?

Play on Amazing setting (default difficulty).

It is highly recommended for beginners and players new to the Spider-Man series of games to choose the Amazing Challenge Level on the first playthrough. This allows you get a feel for the game’s combat, exploration, puzzle, and QTE sections on its standard difficulty (the way the developers intended it by default).

After going through the game’s first story boss, decide whether you want to increase or lower the Challenge Level or tweak different modifiers until you are comfortable playing.

No difficulty-related trophies and achievements.

Unlike the first game, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 does not have any trophies and achievements for beating the game on specific difficulty modes.

Because of this, it is possible to get 100% completion (Platinum trophy) even when playing on the easiest Challenge Level and setting different Challenge Modifiers without any penalties or consequences.
