How to Change Characters in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Can be done during key story sections.

You can switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales during key story sections of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 when the prompt appears on the screen. During this time, press the □ button to change to a different character.

Changing to either Peter or Miles will often be mandatory as you go through the main story. Because of this, you will to be able to proceed to the next area if you do not swap out your controlled character when prompted.

Can be done freely while exploring the open world.

Switching characters can also be be done as you explore the open world of Manhattan by opening the active missions menu during play. Then, press the □ button to change your character to either Peter or Miles.

Character Switching Effects

Allows you to use two different characters with unique skills and abilities.

Perter and Miles each have a unique skill tree that defines their combat style throughout the game. Peter, for instance, can use his newfound Venom symbiote abilities to easily take down multiple enemies quickly when surrounded while Miles’ tools to easily sneak up on foes will come in handy for infiltrating criminal outposts undetected.

Try to switch between the two heroes as you are likely to find one of them to be more up to your preferences than the other.

Lets you take on character-specific side missions.

The game features character-specific side missions that require you to use either Peter or Miles. If you are aiming for 100% completion, you will need to clear all optional content exclusive to each character by constantly switching between them during the mains story.
