How to Use Symbiote Surge in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Press L3 + R3  while playing as Peter Parker (Black Symbiote Suit).

To activate Symbiote Surge in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, press L3 + R3 when Peter’s Symbiote Surge gauge is full. This ability is essentially Peter’s version of Rage Mode which allows you to quickly take down multiple enemies until the Symbiote Surge gauge is depleted.

How to Unlock Symbiote Surge

Becomes available during the main story.

Symbiote Surge is one of the abilities that Peter unlocks upon acquiring the Symbiote Suit during the main story. There is no way to miss out on acquiring the ability as you will have access to it via story progression.

How to Refill Symbiote Surge Gauge

Fills up when attacking enemies or using Symbiote abilities in battle.

You can charge Peter’s Symbiote Surge gauge as you attack enemies  or use different Symbiote abilities such as Symbiote Blast or Symbiote Slam.

Tips for Using Symbiote Surge

Best used when surrounded by multiple enemies or during critical situations.

Symbiote Surge works as a trump card for when you are outnumbered and at low on health. Because of this, it is recommended to save Symbiote Surge for when you need to turn the tide of battle quickly to your favor.

Effective against bosses.

Symbiote Surge is also useful for dealing massive damage on bosses you encounter throughout the game. As with the tip above, you can use Symbiote Surge as a last gamble when you and the boss are close to being defeated.
