All Endings Guide for Pikmin 4

How many endings are there in the game?

Two Endings (Normal and True Ending)

Pikmin 4 has two (2) different endings that you can unlock throughout the game’s main story missions. These are the normal and “true” endings.

Normal Ending

Defeat the Red Leafling during the Leafy Showdown Dandori Battle.

The normal ending is unlocked by simply going through the main mission objectives across the four explorable regions (Sun-Speckled Terrace, Blossoming Arcadia, Serene Shores, and the Hero’s Hideaway) before finally defeating the mysterious Red Leafling (normal ending boss) once and for all during the Dandori Battle Leafy Showdown.

Once you have beaten the normal ending boss, the normal ending and credits will play. Note that this “climax” is only intended to set up the post-game story of Pikmin 4, as a new main mission called Cure Oatchi will begin afterwards at the Rescue Command Post.

“True” Ending (Post-Game)

Defeat Louie and the Ancient Sirehound in the Cavern for a King (Primordial Thicket).

The game’s “true” ending, meanwhile, can only be unlocked once you gain access to the post-game areas (regions) Giant’s Hearth and the Primordial Thicket.

Pikmin 4 How to Unlock Giant’s Hearth (Fifth Map Area)

In addition to clearing Leafy Showdown and watching the normal ending, you must gather a total of 11,000 Sparklium to travel to Giant’s Hearth, the first post-game region. Progress through the main missions on this map until you are able to travel to the game’s final explorable area called Primordial Thicket.

Pikmin 4 Post-Game Unlockables Guide

Primordial Thicket is a new explorable map with its own set of Castaways needing rescue, treasures, and onions. The post-game main mission Cure Oatchi can also be cleared only when you land on this new region.

Once you have progressed through the post-game mission, you will eventually be in pursuit of Louie, Olimar’s old partner and another recurring character in the series. Upon catching up to him, the “true” final boss battle will begin. Clear it to unlock the “true” ending of the game.
