Main Missions Walkthrough for Pikmin 4

Prologue (Tutorial)

Captain Olimar’s Distress

1. Go through the exploration tutorial.
2. Move forward.
3. Press and hold X to do Rush.
4. Press and hold B to do Whistle.
5. Go down to the area below while collecting Pikmin along the way (some are hiding in breakable pots so use Rush on them).
6. Collect Pikmin.
7. Follow the glowing flames of scent throughout the area to reach the next destination.
8. Use Rush on the book end to open the way.
9. Defeat the Porquillion.
10. Create your character (ID Badge).

Exploration Day 1: S.S. Shepherd

Above Ground

1. Move forward.
2. Go to Oatchi.
3. Achieved “Found the Rescue Pup!”
4. Press and hold B to call Oatchi.
5. Command Oatchi to pull the root.
6. Rescue Collin.
7. Achieved “Found Comms Operator Collin!”
8. Move forward.
9. Have Oatchi dig up the nearby dirt hill.
10. Drop down the hole.

Burrow of Beginnings (Cave)

Sublevel 1

1. Defeat the 3 enemies by giving orders to Oatchi.
2. Rescue Captain Shepherd.
3. Achieved “Found Captain Shepherd!”
4. Destroy the pottery with Rush.
5. Examine the device under the light.

Rescue Corps Camp

1. Approach the S.S. Shepherd.
2. The main mission “Secure Energy Source” will begin.
3. Dig up the sand dune with a fork stuck in it.
4. Get the Noble Bident treasure (fork).
5. Dig up and collect the Onion.
6. Collect Red Pikmin by attacking nearby plants.
7. Use Rush to get the treasure to drop.
8. Pick up the Stone of Advancement treasure (Gameboy Advance SP).
9. Pick up the Path Creator treasure (Bicycle Bell).
10. Achieved “The S.S. Shepherd is Running!”
11. The main mission “Rescue Olimar” will begin.
12. Talk to Collin if you are ready to go on the exploration.

Exploration Day 2

Sun-Speckled Terrace: Above Ground

1. Summon Pikmin from the Onion.
2. Collect the blue crystals (Raw Materials).
3. Destroy the wall to open the way forward.
4. Locate the cave.
5. Enter the Last-Frost Cavern.

Last-Frost Cavern (Cave)

Sublevel 1

1. Get the Director of Destiny treasure (compass).
2. Destroy the pottery with Rush.
3. Grow Pikmin with the nectar.
4. Defeat the Snowy Blowhog.
5. Recruit the Ice Pikmin.
6. Drop the paper bag to create a ramp going down.
7. Collect Raw Materials x10.
8. Get the Refreshing Goo treasure (paint).
9. Collect the Flarlic.
10. Throw Ice Pikmin at the Hydro Jelly.
11. Attack and destroy the Hydro Jelly.
12. Rescue Russ.
13. Achieved “Found the Scientist!”
14. Return to the Above Ground.

Search

1. Defeat the Fiery Blowhog and relocate to the new base.
2. Go through the lock-on tutorial.
3. Collect Raw Materials x23.
4. Pull out the root.
5. End Exploration Day 2.

Exploration Day 3

Rescue Corps Camp

1. Gear and Oatchi skills will be unlocked.
2. Talk to Captain Shepherd.
3. Upgrade Oatchi’s skills via rescue training.
   ・Command Lv.2 is recommended.
4. Get Scrummy Bone x1.
5. Go through the item usage tutorial.
6. Give the Scrummy Bone to Oatchi.
7. Talk to Russ.
8. Craft the Charging Horn and Thermal Device at the lab.
9. Talk to Collin to go on an exploration again.

Sun-Speckled Terrace: Above Ground

1. Oatchi will learn jump.
2. Get the Lesser Mock Bottom treasure (peach).
3. Get the Sunseed Berry treasure (strawberry).
4. Enter the cave going to the Industrial Maze.

Industrial Maze (Cave)

Sublevel 1

1. Press and hold the Y button to operate Oatchi via the command menu.
2. Head for the conveyor belt.
3. Cross the reverse conveyor belt with Rush.
4. Join the hero.
5. Pick up Memory Fragment (Top Right) treasure (puzzle piece).
6. Use the red and blue buttons to adjust the direction of the conveyor belt and have Pikmin carry the treasure.
7. Collect Yellow Pikmin.
8. Pick up Personal Injury Plank treasure (skateboard) by using Yellow Pikmin that can be thrown high.
9. Collect all Raw Materials.
10. Destroy the dirt wall to reach Sublevel 2.

Sublevel 2

1. Defeat floating enemies with Yellow Pikmin to obtain extract.
2. Get the Stately Rubber Cutie treasure (rubber ducky).
3. Operate the white switch to lower the fence.
4. Push the paper bag down.
5. Collect the Detective’s Truth Seeker treasure (magnifying glass).
6. Destroy the electric wall with Yellow Pikmin.
7. Relocate.
8. Have Yellow Pikmin dig up the dirt and collect the Unlimited Locomotive treasure (toy train).
9. Rescue Schnauz.
10. Return to the Above Ground.

Sun-Speckled Terrace: Above Ground

1. Get the Aspiration Ritual Ball treasure (magic ball) with Yellow Pikmin.
2. Get the Broken Time Machine treasure (pocket watch) using Rush.
3. Collect the Onion.
4. Approaching a broken bridge triggers the building tutorial.
5. Complete the bridge using Raw Materials.
6. Get the Orb of Destruction (baseball) with Yellow Pikmin.
7. End Exploration Day 3.

Exploration Day 4

Rescue Corps Camp

1. Talk to Schnauz.
2. The Treasure encyclopedia will be unlocked.
3. Talk to Collin to go on the next exploration.

Sun-Speckled Terrace: Above Ground

1. Enter the cave going to Hectic Hallows.

Hectic Hallows (Cave)

Sublevel 1

1. Collect Ice Pikmin by jumping over the bumps.
2. Freeze the water with 10 Ice Pikmin.
3. Get the Mama Doll Head treasure (Russian nesting doll head).
4. Construct a wall using Raw Materials x14.
5. Help the Ice Pikmin.
6. Push the paper bag down
7. Destroy the Hydro Jelly and collect Empty Vase treasure (Russian nesting doll body).
8. Go with Oatchi.
9. Proceed further through the clay pipe to Sublevel 2.

Sublevel 2

1. Break the Hydro Jelly and jump across the pedestal.
2. Collect the Aspiration Ritual Pole treasure.
3. Help the person using Rush.
4. Rescue Kingsly.
5. Return to the Above Ground.

Sun-Speckled Terrace: Above Ground

1. Get the Double Dragon-Eyed Scope with the Yellow Pikmin.
2. Have the Yellow Pikmin dig up dirt to find the cave leading to Crackling Cauldron.

Crackling Cauldron (Cave)

Sublevel 1

1. Get the Deceptive Snack treasure (senbei).
2. Get the Illumination Goo treasure (paint).
3. Get the Dusty Bed treasure (eraser).
4. Collect all Raw Materials.
5. Drop paper bag.
6. Destroy the electric wall.
7. Proceed further through the clay pipe to Sublevel 2.

Sublevel 2

1. Break the electric wall.
2. Throw Red Pikmin to extinguish the burning floor.
3. Rescue Dingo with Yellow Pikmin.
4. Get the Daughter of the Earth treasure (sweet potato) that appears after you put out the fire and dig through the ground.
5. Relocate the base by defeating the enemies.
6. Get the Cookie of Nibble Circles treasure (cookie).
7. Get the SS Chocolate treasure (macaron).
8. Return to the Above Ground.

Sun-Speckled Terrace: Above Ground

1. Break the electric wall.
2. End Exploration Day 4.
3. If your accumulated Sparklium exceeds 1500, you will get the achievement “Radar Search Range Expanded!”
4. (End of playable demo).
