How to Earn Pup Drive Points Guide for Pikmin 4
Rescue Explorer Castaways.
You can earn Pup Drive points for Oatchi in Pikmin 4 by rescuing lost members of the exploration crews known as Castaways during missions. Most of these missing explorers are found in caves, often reachable after clearing certain obstacles or defeating enemies.

Oatchi will also accumulate Pup Drive points whenever you rescue mysterious alien-like creatures called Leaflings. These curious beings are characterized by their odd-looking head which resemble bushes or a clump leaves, hence their name,
Clear Dandori Battles and Dandori Challenges.
Clearing Dandori Battles and Dandori Challenges which are unlocked by talking to Leaflings also allows you to earn Pup Drive points throughout the game. These are special missions that may require you to battle a Leafling who has issued a challenge or collect items within a specified time limit.
How to Use Pup Drive Points
Required to unlock and upgrade Oatchi’s various skills via Captain Shepherd’s Rescue Pup Training.
Pup Drive points can be spent to learn and level up Oatchi’s different skills for exploration and combat. Since you will have an easier time clearing missions during the main story with the right abilities, try to accumulate Pup Drive points as often as you can.
You cannot respec Oatchi’s skills.
There is no way to refund any Pup Drive points you spent for skills in the game. During the early missions, it is recommended to focus on unlocking and upgrading Oatchi’s exploration skills like Command and Buff as battles can easily be cleared without having access to the more expensive combat abilities.
