Game Difficulty Guide for Star Ocean: The Divine Force
Star Ocean: The Divine Force features various types of difficulty modes that determines how strong enemies are and affect the overall level of combat in the game. When starting a New Game, you can choose from Earth, Galaxy, and Universe difficulty. The hardest difficulty setting, Chaos, is unlocked after beating the game once (to be confirmed).
Can You Change the Difficulty?
Can be changed at any time.
The difficult you set at the start of the gam is not permanent since you can change the setting at any time afterwards. Open the game menu and go to SYSTEM. Then, select GAME to lower or increase the game difficulty.

Which Difficulty Setting Should You Start With?
Galaxy (Normal) Mode
It is generally recommended to start the game on Galaxy (Normal) difficulty to allow you to get a feel for the game’s battle mechanics on its default setting. After going through the a decent amount of the early game (somewhere after you have beaten the main story’s first boss), decide whether you want to play on Earth (Easy) or Universe (Hard) to suit your preferences by changing the difficulty from the settings.
