You can change the game difficulty in Star Ocean: The Divine Force (Star Ocean 6) at any time during play. This feature is useful for adjusting the challenge provided by the game to your preferences after you have selected a game difficulty level at the start of the game.
Steps to Change Game Difficulty
Below are the steps to change the game’s difficulty from the game’s settings.

Useful Tips for Adjusting Game Difficulty
Lower the difficulty if you get stuck on a tough encounter.
If you find yourself struggling against a particular boss for too long, you can simply lower the game difficulty. It is, however, generally recommended to try and level up or change your strategy instead for a more rewarding experience after you get over the obstacle placed in front of you.
Lower the difficulty when farming experience (XP), Skill Points (SP) and money (Fol).
You can speed up the process of leveling up, acquiring Skill Points (SP), or farming money by playing on easier difficulty modes. Note that the XP and Fol gained from battles is the same across all difficulty levels so you might as well lower the setting to save time.
