Perfect Parry Tips and Guide for Stellar Blade (Project EVE)

How to Perfect Parry

Press L1 at the right moment when the enemy attacks.

To do a Perfect Parry in Stellar Blade (Project EVE), you must press the guard button (L1) at the last moment an enemy’s attack lands. If done successfully, a brief flash will appear, which fully negates the enemy’s attack while also reducing their posture.

Allows you to follow up with a powerful attack after depleting the enemy’s posture.

Consistently lowering the enemy’s posture will cause them to go into a staggered state. When this happens, press the press △ to activate a powerful attack called “Retribution”.

Retribution is one of the most reliable ways to deal massive damage to enemies so practice Perfect Parrying enemies whenever you can.

Attacks that Cannot be Perfect Parried

Below are all attack types that cannot be Perfect Parried based on the color of the flash that appears on the attacking enemy.

Attack Color Indicator Countermeasure
Yellow Dodge only.
Blue Blink
Purple Repulse

Tips for Perfect Parry

Press L1 at the last moment the attack hits.

A Perfect Parry will only succeed if you press the guard button (L1) at the last moment just before the enemy’s attack lands on EVE. If you press L1 too early, you will instead perform a normal guard or parry. Hitting guard too late, meanwhile, will cause you to get hit by the attack.

Unlock Support Skills.

There is a Focus Boost skill in the skill tree that makes it easier to perform Perfect Parries by making the timing more lenient. This allows you to become more consistent with Perfect Parries if you are having trouble getting the timing down early on.

Use equipment that accommodate or assist you in Perfect Parries.

Some equipment skills can also make Perfect Parries easier such as the Reflex Exospine. When you get better at Perfect Parry timings, you can opt to use different equipment later.
