Can You Play as the Black Valkyrie Hilde in Valkyrie Elysium?
Confirmed to be Playable after the November 2022 Update.
It has been confirmed that Hilde, the black Valkyrie Hilde who serves as one of the antagonists in Valkyrie Elysium, will become playable in the game through an update coming out on November 2022. Constantly at odds with the game’s protagonist Valkyrie Maria, Hilde will be featured as the main character in her own story campaign called Hilde’s Vengeance.

Hilde’s gameplay will be significantly different from Maria’s as the former has access to special “Shadow Attacks.” In addition, the Dark Valkyrie has her own skill tree that allows players to unlock abilities and techniques unique to her fighting style.

Maria’s Rival in the Main Story
In Valkyrie Elysium, the Valkyrie heroine Maria and her allies frequently cross blades with a Hilde, an imposing fellow Valkyrie clad in black armor who fights in the service of Fenrir. Wielding a massive spear, Hilde proves to be a formidable rival to Maria in combat. It is, however, unclear what kind of past has driven Hilde to side against the All-Father Odin and what her true motives are.
