Chapter 9: The Fate of the World Main Quest Walkthrough

Chapter 9: Fate of the World Walkthrough Part 1

1 Follow the quest marker and defeat the enemies along the way. Many of the Undead are weak to the Holy element so summoning Kristoffer and using Grave Edge III will let you take them out faster.
2 From here, there will be three possible ending routes you can take (four if you have obtained all Verdant Blossoms before starting this chapter). Please see the walkthrough branches below on how to get each ending in the game.

Normal Ending (Twilight of the Great Wolf)

1 To get the “Normal” ending, simply head to the final area of the Serpent’s Nest and defeat Fenrir.
2 Watch the “Twilight of the Great Wolf” ending.

Good Ending (Twilight of the All-Father)

1 To get the “Good” ending, do not go to the final area of the Serpent’s Nest yet. Instead, meet Armand first at the designated spot on the northeast of the map.
2 Watch the cutscene. Then, select the first option “Accept that you are a Valkyrie and do what must be done” (refuse Armand’s offer to be human and run with him).
3 Follow the quest marker to the final area of Serpent’s Nest.
4 Defeat Hilde and Fenrir.
5 Defeat Eygon, Cypher, Kristoffer, and Taika.
6 Defeat Odin.
7 Watch the “Twilight of the All-Father” ending.

Bad Ending (A Momentary Escape)

1 To get the “Bad” ending, do not go to the final area of the Serpent’s Nest. Instead, meet Armand at the designated spot on the northeast of the map.
2 Watch the cutscene. Then, select the second option “Become human and go with Armand” (abandon your duty as a Valkyrie).
3 Watch the “A Momentary Escape” ending.

True Ending

Please click on the link below to view an in-depth guide on how to get the True Ending in the game. Note that you must have collected all Verdant Blossoms from Chapter 3: An Unexpected Encounter to Chapter 8: The Truth Unmasked before starting Chapter 9: The Fate of the World to get this ending.

Boss Strategy Guide

Fenrir

Fenrir is weak against the Holy element so summon Kristoffer and use Grave Edge III to build up the boss’ crush gauge. Have Eygon, Taika, or Cypher out as well to divide the boss’ attention during the fight so you can avoid taking too much damage.

The attack to watch out for when fighting Fenrir is its teleport attack. Fenrir will jump into the air and immediately appear above you to launch a ranged drop attack. When you see the boss disappear, get ready to dodge away.

Keep your HP up by using Heal III or Elixirs until Fenrir is defeated.

Eygon, Cypher, Kristoffer, and Taika.

Your Einherjars will serve as mini bosses in the fight against Odin. Note that you will not have access to any summons when fighting them so your only option of exploiting their weaknesses is to use Divine Arts. Eygon is weak to Holy, Cypher to Fire, Kristoffer to Lightning, and Taika to Ice.

Odin

Against Odin himself, Kristoffer is still the best summon to use as the All-Father is weak to Holy. Use Arts Elixirs and Soul Elixirs throughout the fight to you can keep up the pressure against Odin or use Heal III if you need to.

When Odin starts charging his Sword of Light attack, run away and dodge as it is impossible to interrupt him. Once you successfully evade the first attack, you can counter with Grave Edge before he can recover.
