Introducing New Amiibo Figures – Inkling, Octoling, & Smallfry in Splatoon 3

Ahead of Splatoon 3’s worldwide release, Nintendo announces the new “Inkling (Yellow), Octoling (Blue), & Smallfry (Little Buddy)” amiibo figures which will become available this Winter 2022, well after the game’s launch on September 9th, 2022.

 

Source: Official Nintendo YouTubeThe “Inkling (Yellow), Octoling (Blue), & Smallfry (Little Buddy)” amiibo set was featured on the Splatoon 3 Direct event which introduced the characters themselves that is set to make their debut in the third installment of the Splatoon series of third-person shooting games. The rewards for this amiibo set is still unknown and will be revealed once it is released this Winter 2022.

How to Scan and Activate Amiibo

To scan an amiibo figure, head over to the Splatsville and locate the big amiibo box after clearing the game’s tutorial section. Then, place the amiibo figure on your Joy Con’s scanner to access the special bonuses. We have a guide on how you can use your amiibo and the rewards for scanning.

Game Overview

Splatoon 3 is the third installment in Nintendo’s Splatoon series of team multiplayer shooting games which first released on the Nintendo Wii U in 2015. Owing to its intense online gameplay, Splatoon has grown to establish itself in the realm of esports, spawning its own tournament circuit in 2018.

As with previous titles in the series, Splatoon 3 puts players in the role of Inklings or Octolings which are fictional cephalopods based on squids and octopuses respectively. These creatures have the ability to transform between their humanoid and cephalopod forms at will and are constantly engaged in turf battles with each other.

Gameplay centers around two teams of four players battling it out to seize control of territory across a variety of maps filled with different structures and obstacles. A wide selection of ink weapons are available to each player which include various ranged armaments and even weapons resembling everyday items like brushes and buckets.
