Splatoon 3 - Squid Surge

The Squid Surge is a basic movement technique in Splatoon 3 which allows you to leap high into the air while swimming up a wall. The move activates an ink vortex as you jump up from a wall, granting you some protection against attacks.

Steps to Do a Squid Surge

Below are the steps to perform a Squid Surge in Splatoon 3.

1 Dive into the ink and swim up an ink-covered wall.
2 As you are swimming up, hold down B.
3 If done correctly, your character’s eyes while in Inkling/Octoling form should briefly flash before jumping straight up from the wall.

Additional Mechanics and Tips

  • Note that your character will come to a dead stop on the wall for about 2 seconds before performing the actual Squid Surge upwards. Keep this in mind as opponents may time you as you come out of the move.
