Greetings and welcome to Samurai Gamers’ Weekly Takeaways, where we look back at the previous week’s Arena of Valor action in Kaisaya’s Valiant Tournament and check out some noteworthy on-goings of all the matches.
Week 2 saw the conclusion of the placement matches for Kaisaya’s tournament, and things are shaping up quite nicely. With the dust settled, let us take a look at some interesting takeaways:
Teemee Debuts in Valiant Server
One of the biggest takeaways during Week 2 was the debut of Teemee, the Stalwart Twins. The dynamic duo has proven to be a great fit in Valiant Server’s tank-heavy metagame. A beefy Tank / Support hero, Teemee was either banned or picked right off the bat, and as with newly introduced heroes, players were keen on checking out how they will fare in high level of play:
Players in the Valiant Server are known to roll the dice and tested Teemee in a good number of matches. With is unique kit that gives them great engages, as well as a game-changing Ultimate, the Pooty Poots duo were excellent in their debut, boasting a perfect Win/Loss record for every game they are in.
The Picked and the Banned (Week 2)
Week 2 saw 16 intense games of AOV action, with a great new hero debut. However, are the picks and bans more of the same? Let’s find out:
HERO | PICK % (16 Games) | WIN % (16 Games) | NOTES |
---|---|---|---|
Maloch | 75.00% |
54.55%
|
Maloch and Zephys both get top honors as the most picked heroes for the second week of the placement matches.
Both heroes are good at engaging the opposing team; Maloch is a damage sponge, while Zephys is mobile enough to pick off the opposing team’s carries. At 58%, both heroes have been at the winning end of matches whenever they are picked. |
Xeniel | 68.75% | 55.56% | Xeniel continues to be a consistent hero for the second week. Given his global pressure after level 4 and his excellent lane pushing, he continues to be a good pick for teams who want to employ a divide and conquer strategy. |
Alice | 43.75% | Alice (57.14%) Kriknak (42.86%) Lauriel (28.57%) Lu Bu (85.71%) Thane (42.86%) |
Week 2’s matches saw a multitude of heroes gaining valuable playing time, with varying results:
Alice continues to be the popular Support pick in the tournament so far. Her versatile kit proves to be an essential asset which translates to wins for any team that chooses her. Kriknak has seen some time in Antaris Battlefield thanks in large part to his recent buffs this patch. He is a decent alternative for teams who weren’t able to get Zephys. Lauriel by and large is one of the go-to Mages in Valiant Server. Her Magic Damage potential is a great addition to her team, especially if they run a clash-heavy strategy. Lu Bu was one of the winningest heroes in Week 2 at an impressive 85% clip. His dueling prowess makes him a threat one-on-one. He is one of the heroes to watch out for in the coming matches. Thane rounds up the most picked heroes. AN effective front liner, he shines whenever he gets tin engage and stun multiple enemies first. His Excalibur ultimate is also a great tool in winning team fights. |
Conversely, here are the three most banned heroes of Week 2:
HERO | WIN% WHEN PICKED (16 Games) | BAN% (16 Games) | NOTES |
---|---|---|---|
Superman | 00.00% | 81.25% | Superman has taken the top honors this week as the most banned hero for Week 2.
The Last Son of Krypton has seen a whopping 81.25% Ban Rate over the course of 16 games, and in the two games he was able to see action, he has fallen short 0-2. |
Kil’Groth | 40.00% | 43.75% | Kil’Groth remains to be on the top banned heroes for Week 2, second only to Superman.
Teams are keen on this powerhouse, and would rather not deal with him on the battlefield. In the games where Kil’Groth is in play, he has netted a 40% win rate – be on a look out for this trend, as some teams might have cracked the formula to control this beast. |
Xeniel | 55.56% | 31.25% | Xeniel completes the most banned list, with a 55% ban rate for Week 2.
Teams are well aware of what he brings for his team, and would rather not deal with his team fight heroics, especially in crucial stages of a match. |
Best Team Score (Week 2)
Week 2 saw a lot of AOV action, with the Best Team Score is awarded to Team Marksman in their match against Nova PH Blacklisted.
Team Marksman blitzed Nova Ph Blacklisted, resulting in a 25-1 beat down in just about 8 minutes of gameplay. MVP honors went to Team Marksman’s Impressive, who played Batman who delivered with a commanding 9-0-12 KDA.
