What are Nopon Coins?
Nopon Coins are a type of collectible currency in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (XC 3) used to purchase items from the Nopon Coin exchange shop. The resource also allows you to avail of various useful features in the game such as leveling-up hero classes, crafting gems, and cooking dishes.
How to Get Nopon Coins
Clearing Quests
Nopon Coins are rewarded for clearing main story quests and side quests. Certain side missions only become active for a limited period so it is worth holding off from the game’s main story missions to do them whenever you can.
Rebooting Ferronis Hulks
You can occasionally find Nopon Coins from containers that can only be opened after rebooting Ferronis Hulks found all throughout the game’s various locations.
Intervening During Monster Skirmishes
Throughout the main story, you may occasionally encounter two monsters fighting each other on the map. During these events, you can side with one of the monsters and defeat the other to obtain Nopon Coins at the end of the battle.
Helping a monster during these events prevents you from gaining XP and money so decide carefully whether you want to intervene in the skirmish.
Defeating Unique Monsters
Unique monster may drop Nopon Coins upon defeat. Bear in mind that these enemies are significantly more powerful than those regularly encountered throughout the various areas of the game so be sure to organize your party before taking them on.

How to Use Nopon Coins
Purchase Items from the Nopon Exchange Shop
As mentioned earlier, Nopon Coins are mainly used to buy items from the Nopon Exchange Shop. It is expected that certain items can only be obtained this way so it is worth collecting as many Nopon Coins as you can during the main story.
Complete Collectopaedia Cards Objectives
Collectopaedia Cards which require you to deliver specific items can instantly be cleared by paying Nopon Coins instead. It is, however, better to look for the target item listed on the Collectopaedia card instead and save you Nopon Coins for spending at the Exchange Shop.

Craft Gems or Cook Meals

Nopon Coins can also be used for crafting gems or cooking dishes when you do not have the necessary materials or ingredients to make what you want. In general, try to avoid using Nopon Coins for these activities as much as possible and just gather the required items you need to craft a gem or cook a meal.
Level Up Hero Classes
Lastly, you can easily level up Hero classes by spending Nopon Coins. It is also not recommended to use Nopon Coins this way as you should just grind experience in battle unless you have stockpiled a hefty amount of the resource.
