How to Switch Characters in Xenoblade Chronicles 3
You can freely change the character you are controlling in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (XC 3) while exploring the field or when engaged in battle by holding down the ZL button and pressing the LR button.
Doing so allows you to switch to any part member that you want to operate with more precision, especially if they have specific abilities that can essentially turn the tide during disadvantageous situations.
Switching Characters Only Becomes Available in Chapter 2
You can only start switching control of characters upon reaching Chapter 2 of the game’s main story when all playable characters join the party.
