History
Demons are supernatural and often malevolent being prevalent in religion, occultism, literature, fiction, mythology and folklore superpowers. The DC Universe has included many demons and various residents of Hell, usually as villains. However, the title “The Demon” is most commonly used for books featuring the character Etrigan. He is a mostly heroic rhyming demon bonded to the soul of human occultist Jason Blood. Etrigan was created by Jack Kirby, first appearing in The Demon #1. (1972)
